How to fix wmpnetwk.exe taking over 90% of my physical memory?

Also, from time to time I'm also having issue with PresentationFontCache.exe taking up over 50% of the CPU. I set Presentationfontcach.exe to Manual and re-booted computer, then place Presentationfontcache back to Automatic. I can not seem to get the wmpnetwk.exe STOP taking over the physical memory and at that point, accessing any programming on the computer is NOT Responding. Any advise..

SOURCE: Help needed !!!

Wmpnetwk.exe is a media player network sharing service. It is annoying and useless(as you have already noticed).
Click start->Run->Type in "services.msc"(without the quotes). Then click on the services tab, and uncheck the box next to wmpnetwk.exe. Click apply, close the configuration utility and reboot your computer. If you ever want to start the media sharing service again you can start it from windows media player.

Hope this helps,
Sai.

When using internet sys runs very slow i'ts new normal prgrams installed pop up says to increase memory how

Does it specify if it's PHYSICAL MEMORY or VIRTUAL MEMORY?

If it was virtual memory, which is normal to receive Windows notifications about when running low, Windows would ask if you would like it to fix it for you; it would run its course in the background for a bit & ask for a restart.

If it asks to increase physical memory, then there's probably a program installed & your computer does not meet the memory requirements of that application; Although if it's really new and you have not added any new programs, there's a possibility that one (or more, if applicable) memory modules may not be working. they could either be busted or loosely seated. Yes, this DOES happen for computers out of the box.

Memory modules can be purchased from computer/electronics or select office supplies shops. You'll just have to find out what type of memory you have, how much is currently installed, & how much more the computer can support.

It's not as complicated as it sounds. Just click here to download & install the latest version of CPU-Z.After installation, just run the program & click on the Mainboard, Memory & SPD tabs, as seen below

rictutero_8.jpg

This will help figure out whit kind of memory modules & how much of it will have to be purchased.

I have had this problem since I purchased it in October. The computer got really slow and I was unable to open anything. I couldn't even shut it down properly. I had to hold the power button until it...

Hello, Thanks for the opportunity to help!
Based on what your telling US my best judgment would be a bad memory module inside the unit witch is causing this system problem.
What happens is the machine is getting stuck "hanging" or "halting" on a shutdown sequence due to a bad segment in memory. This happens to allot of All in one computer because of there tight and sleek design witch tends to cause overheating issues within the system chassis.
Without looking at it physically I only can give you a basic rundown of what I feel that causes the issue 90 percent of the time over the years I have serviced these machines.
The issue is air flow, many times customers keep there computer in WARM area's of living space.
Temperature does matter in these cases. All in one pc's hold a LCD monitor, CPU, Hard drive, power supply and the list goes on. These machine's are what I call ALL in ONE Trow away computers. Once out of the box they have a 2 year live span before they kick the bucket.
Best thing here is take into into a tech locally and have him check the memory modules inside, Also have him/her re coat the CPU unit with thermal Grease, clean out the units ventilation fans.
Do not get me wrong here the issue could simply be a fan that stopped working inside witch causes a computer to act irrationally and not shut down. Take it in have it overlooked.

Best Regards

Laptop beeps4 times but doesn't come on the monitor or start-up. ights on front of laptop and start button come on but nothing else happens.

In most cases this means bad memory stick. If you are able to, flip over the laptop, find the panel that has the memory under it, unscrew the screw(s) to get the panel off, and pull out the top stick of memory. Flip the laptop back over and power it on. If it works fine again, then that stick was the problem, and you can go buy a replacement and install it back into that slot. If that doesn't fix the issue, turn it off, flip it over, pull the other stick of memory out and put the first stick into that slot. Flip it back upright and turn on again. If that fixes the issue, then the second stick of memory is bad and you can just replace it as well. If neither of those fix the issue please reply on here and we can do further diagnostics.

Losing virtual memory. how much to replace. express service 11124380917

Virtual memory is a setting, physical memory is something you can replace. Right click My Computer, choose Properties. Look on the General tab to see what you have for RAM. You should have at least 1GB. Less than that you'll have performance issues. 2GB would be good. More is better.
Virtual memory is a setting, and should be 1.5 to 3 times what you have for physical memory. Right click My Computer, choose Properties. Choose the Advanced tab. Under Performance, choose Settings. On the Advanced tab under Virtual Memory, click Change. For initial size, enter the number in MB that is 1.5 times your physical memory. (1GB = 1024 MB) For maximum size, enter the number in MB that is 3 times your physical memory.
Hope this helps! Good luck.

My toshiba satellite M55-S135 is showing a blue screen with "physical memory dump complete" & to contact tech support. Basically, wanted to ask if my laptop is crashed...

Hi:
Crashed is a generic term, and the physical memory dump error is a windows based error that could be a bad memory stick, or a corruption in windows. If you have 2 sticks of memory in your laptop, a cheap and easy way to troubleshoot this would be to remove one stick, then the other,to see if one stick removed stops the crash. If it does, then you have solved the problem, and if it doesnt' then you have a corrupt software issue.

Hope you get a cheap fix!

Amvo.exe application error

Though you didn't include the actual message, memory issues can be from not having enough RAM, having physical RAM that is defective (run a memory check), or running too many processes for your system's capabilities. Take a look at the Task Manager to verify services are not overloading your PC capacity - you may need to add RAM. Thanks for rating FixYa!
