Also you want to go to diagnostic mode select LD  lid down. make sure both actuator are working, meaning both are pulling down the lid. mine what happen is left side actuator motor is not working any more. so when I start unit right actuator motor pull the right side of the lid but the other side since motor not working leave that side open. when spray arm spray water.  water coming out and flooding bottom panel. later unit will raise fail code F1.pump motor will start running like forever.

Fisher & paykel fault "F1" is displayed on the top

hello
F1 means the flood sensor senses water at base of machine at PC board.
You need to take out bottom drawer and check for water puddle under where the drawer was.If there is water you can get the machine going again by comletely drying it out(F1WILL CLEAR),but it still means you have a leak. With bottom drawer out you can really see whats going on.Once F1 is clear you can actually run upper drawer and see if it leaks. Most likely culprit are the lid actuators.Replace all 4 . It'll run like new.Don't overload drawer .That can cause lid leak too. Also the PC board may be damaged and may start to go crazy giving fake F1 codes.$80 easy fix.
good luck

Hello,

This is a flood error code. The bottom drawer needs to be removed to dry up the water. The video below explains how to do this. It's actually pretty easy.

We have a 23" Fisher&Paykel dishwasher and got

The F1 error coming on top drawer when operating bottom drawer is due to the thermal fuse blowing up on the bottom drawer and shutting controller power.

The thermal fuse could have blown either as a normal component failure or heater over heated due to thermostat failure. In any case this can be repaired by replacing the whole heater assembly as all the parts are integrated.

This is at the underside of the drawer and will need a technician to replace unless you are very familiar with repairing electronic dishwashers. The part look like this.

The way you have described the onset of the F1 error is not due to flood switch. You can confirm that the lights on the bottom drawer are out even though the top drawer is showing F1 and beeping.

If problem was flood switch then both drawers would show F1.

Can anyone help me with my fisher and paykel DD603 the top draw is showing F1. fault 1. thanks

When F1 is showing up then there is a leak. The leak is causing by the top lid seal not close down tightly to the opening tube surface groove. Pull out the tube, put in tower in the bottom housing accessing from the left side. Only this side you can have room to put your hand in drying out the bottom. Do the same thing with the bottom drawer since the floor sensor is at the bottom and when it detects water then there is some water at the bottom housing of lower tube also. After Drying it out you can use You can use the lower tube wile ordering parts for the upper tube. Need to order 2 upper actuators and a lid seal with YOKE, if you want to do it yourself. Otherwise, have a F&P serviceman come in and diagnose the problem, not any handyman since the F&P dishwasher is not like others.

Hi Both drawers show error F1 flashing beeping with rinse light on and both pumps run after power is applied to machine

F1 error indicates flood switch in base has activated, meaning machine has leaked. This causes machine to drain continously, and can only be stopped by switching off power. Not easy to fix if you don't have experience- bottom drawer has to be removed to access flood switch, then machine needs to be test run and checked for leaks. Best to call the professionals!!

E-mail for Fisher Paykel DD603 manual

Josh, you will need to have a Tech out to look at it... F/P will not sell you parts to repair it. The F1 indicates that the flood switch has been tripped. There are many possible causes for this but probably the upper drawer link support has broken and is getting stuck between the lid and the drawer in which case you will need a new lid and link support.

Fisher and paykel dishwasher

F1 is a flood code meaning excessive amounts of water have collected on the bottom catch basin.
If a flood condition is detected, both draws will activate the drain motors and flash F1.
Remove the bottom drawer by pulling the lock pins on each lower side corner. Slide down and remove front cover. Release the drawer slide clips and remove drawer then dry the catch basin.
There are three possible scenarios for this error code;
1. Defective lid motor(s)...Each drawer has two lid motors, attached to the cabinet on either side of the drawer, that pull the lid tight to the drawer when the cycle is started. (this was very common on early models)
2. Something too tall was placed in the drawer preventing the lid from closing completely.
3. (only seen this once) the drain hose developed a crack causing water to leak only when draining.
