Lexmark X2650 All in one printing only in black

First, make sure you are using genuine Lexmark cartridges.

Second, try updating the firmware of your printer. Just go to http://bit.ly/ghfW8H to download the firmware update.

If the firmware update doesn't help, please perform a maintenance on the cartridges. To do that, on the control panel of your printer, press on Setup > Maintenance > Deep Clean Printhead.

I had a Epson printer that would not print or even allow me to use the scanner because the colored ink was out. Even though I had full black ink, it still would not let me print until i replaced the colored ink.

The Lexmark Impact S305 printer requires all the cartridges to have ink in them to continue printing - even if you're printing using black ink only. To print true black, you actually use some of the color ink.
Note: Leaving the color cartridge empty or dry isn't good for the printer. It can lead to poor print quality if you want to print color in the future.

Please note that Lexmark does not recommend the use of refilled cartridges. Refilled cartridges tend to degrade in print quality and performance.
You may try to re-seat the cartridge and make sure it's properly seated in the cartridge carrier. Also note that once a cartridge is refilled, it can no longer register its ink level.

Try to clean the print cartridge nozzles. On your computer, go to Start menu > All Programs / Programs > Lexmark Z600 Series > select Lexmark Solution Center. From the Maintenance tab, select Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Your printer will then print a clean test page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them. Try to print your document again and to check if print quality is achieved.

Your ink cartridge nozzles may be clogged. You may try to do a cleaning cartridge nozzles cycle.
Open the Lexmark Solution Center. Click on the Maintenance tab. Click on Clean to fix horizontal streaks. Click on Print. Depending on the diagonal lines results, you can click on Clean Again.

the paper was black or blank? i think you mean blank, the ink will dry out over time replacing the cartridges will most likely solve the problem, or for the cost of the two cartridges u may want to consider a new cheap printer.

Any damage to your printer caused by refilled ink cartridges may not be covered under warranty”. Please use genuine Lexmark cartridges for best results.

yes you have to have both of them then everything should be fine.if you have the color cartridge that is empty put it in for now and see if it will work it will let u know that it is empty but at least you will be able to print in black

if your document only black and white , the machine only use black ink, no going withdraw the color ink. but you have had to leaved the full color ink in the machine.
