Question about Canon Pixma MP450 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Hi, Did you hear a loud crunching sound from the printer before the error code 5100 was displayed? 1. You may need to send in the unit for service. Some Cannon Service offer temporary replacement unit while working on yours. Checking and do-it-yourself inkjet printer repair is messy. 2. You can try check if the print head assembly (carriage) moves freely from left to right. Lubricate/clean if necessary (If your printer has one) check also the slit strip at the back of the carriage. This is a plastic film with multiple dark notch like mark. Clean with cotton swab and light solvent or isoprophyl alcohol. If these does not solve your problem, guess your back to # 1. Good luck and kind regards.

tried to scan and received this code (Error 5100) and the unit would not scan the document... now what?
i changed the ink cartridges and put them back in now to receive error code 5100 and an awful grinding noise im not happy ive only had the printer scanner etc just under 2month canon pixma mp470
ive turned it off and on and i also couldn't get to the ink cartridges because they were on the wrong side (right when supposed to be on left). Ive also tried to scan someting and it wont.
THE POINT IS, I CANT FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I gotten the 5100 error message. I printed a copy from a sheet of paper, but it won't copy from word doct. Turn it off and on cleaned the inside nothing works
I have no idea what is going on with mine. I recieved error message 5100. It was working fine yesterday, today i wake up and the alarm light is going off. What is wrong with it??? How do i fix it?
I've turned my compter on and off, turned the printer on and off, changed the cartridge, and still it won't work.
Printer needed new cartridges changed the cartridges now error 5100 keeps coming on screen. Green and alarm lights flashing tried taking cartridges in and out but no difference.
Error 5100 means there is a piece of paper jammed in the printer...take out the paper then turn the printer off/on and it will erase the message...
my printer keeps saying error code 5100 everytime i turn it on ive had it about 3 months and is still not working can you help?
