Bluish film left on all dishes

We have had our dishwasher for less than a year and there have already been 2 service trips for faulty components covered under warranty. In the past few days, there has been a bluish/whitish film left on our dishes after the cycle has completed. We do have hard water but use a water softener so we are not sure what the issue is. The film is somewhat frosted looking and comes off when we rinse dishes under regular tap water.

same thing. All of a sudden my dishwasher started leaving a film- almost like calcium or soap build up on the dishes and especially the glassware. It started when i used a cheapo soap and then changed back to cascade after 2-3 washings. We also have a water softener and all was well until about a month ago when this started. HELP!

The problem is hard water. www.dishwasherfilter.com has a product to solve this problem once and for all. It filters the water going into your dishwasher and removes the hard minerals that leave those spots. It is very affordable and even has a money back guarantee. You will love the way your dishes look with this product.

Our less than 1 year old Whirlpool dishwasher model DU1145XTPQA is taking as much as 2 and 3/4 hrs. to complete the entire dishwashing (normal)cycle. This is much longer than it used to take.

Contact Whirlpool service immediately to get a service call scheduled before the warranty expires.
Most dishwashers that begin taking longer to complete the cycle have a failed heating element but that also normally means that the dishes do not get fully clean and the glassware has a film on it after the cycle ends.
Good Luck!
