Just put in a new PCB SUB because of convergence problem. Convegence is fixed, but a little blurry picture and colors are a little off. Do I need to get a tech in for fine tuning adjustments? Or is there something I can do?
The focus controls on this set are in the front behind the bezel. I'm not sure, but, I think on this age of Samsung, the screws to the front bezel are on the back side of the set. After removing the screws from the back, the front bezel snaps off and the door behind the bezel need to be removed. Watch the wires connected to the bezel, they need to be attached in order to turn on the set. The focus controls are on a black control block (there are three of them, one for each color). Adjust each color for sharpest picture. I use words on the screen for alignment. Each CRT board has a screen control (Adjust each slowly until retrace lines appear on the screen and then back off until they disappear). You may turn off the color and make sure that the picture is black and white. If it is not, then, which ever color is dominant, back it off a bit with that screen control. Facing the set, Red is left, Green is middle and Blue is on the right. Use only one hand inside an operating television. Do not touch the board, just the controls. This concludes television alignment 101. Any questions respond to this post and I'll reply.

Screen controls not working normally is due to the 200 volt line. It may be low or not there at all. If the picture is dark, then, this circuit needs to be checked. If the picture is the right brightness is correct, then don't worry about it.
If the convergence is correct, then, the Sub is fine. Make sure all connections are connected.
Blurry corners are normal in a rear projection television. Your set is aging. Check for leaking fluids from the tubes also.

The focus controls worked great, but when I adjusted the screen controls on the individual CRT board - nothing happened on all three. I turned all three dials all the way to left and right, and not change in picture at all -no response.
Checked all connections, all plugs and wires in place. Any possibility I received a bad PCB SUB board?
Also noticed that the focus worked great on the center of the screen, but the corners are blurry, noticed this when in the convergence mode.
Any hints on how to check and repair the 200V line.
The screen adjustment wire directly goes to the Red CRT, then from Red to Green, then Green to Blue.
The Red is dim, blue and green are just fine. I assume the green and blue screen controls dont work because the screen adjustment is in series, starting with the red.
Any help on checking the 200V line and repair is appreciated.
