No Prob...I had the same problem with my GR-D72U. There is a defect in the CCD image sensor. JVC will fix it for FREE! All it will cost you is shipping it to them. Go to http://www.jvcservice.com/service/CustNoticeCamcorder.asp?PgReq=DspDtaDtl&MdlNbr=GR-D72US&Pgm=CCD , download the rapair request... Send it off to your nearest service center and they ship it back all fixed up in less than a week. I must tell you though, you ONLY have until Dec. 31 2008 to do this. Not only did they fix mine, they cleaned the heads but also buffed out a scratch. After you get yours fixed, post as many helps as you can to others.

I had the same problem on my GR-D750U and JVC will fix it.  See
http://www.jvcservice.com/service/CustNoticeCamcorder.asp?PgReq=DspDtaDtl&MdlNbr=GR-D750US&Pgm=CCD

If you have a different product, try replacing the GR-D750 in the URL above with your product and see if a valid warrantee page is returned.

Apparently this same problem exists on many different models. I have a JVC grd72u. I called JVC @ 800-252-5722. I selected the "Corrective Action Program" prompt from the automated attendent. I spoke to a customer service rep. They are aware of the problem and are fixing it for free, but only until 12/31/07. I suggest you call ASAP and get your name in the computer. If the problem is something besides the CCD sensor, they will call you with the estimate to repair.

I have a JVC Digital Video Camera Model GR-D32U. I can not see anything on the LCD monitor or through the eye lens just darkness. A message keep popping up on the LCD monitor saying to remove the lens cap.

This is usually caused by a defective CCD image sensor and can be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired qualified service technician.

Lens cap

There may be a microswitch that detects the cap that's stuck. Take it to your dealer first, then try calling JVC for support.

JVC GR-DX25EK camcorder

JVC has issued a notice on many models that bring up a "lens cap" error. However, the GR-DX25EK is not included. The model you have posted on its page(GR-DX95) is though. This problem is still very common with models that aren't on the said list, given that and the fact that your model is from the same series, you might get some consideration from JVC. No harm in trying. The listed models get a free repair. Heres a link to the notice from JVC: http://www.jvc.com/support/notification/index.jsp?pageID=2 Good luck
