I had this happen once and believe it is caused by an object in the DD not letting the inside top lid to close. The top lid needs to be reset. Simply unplug the power and wait 30 seconds or so and plug it back in. This should reset it.

I had this same problem. The door was sealed tight and wouldn't open. It happened once 3 years ago, then again two days ago. I finally unplugged it from the power, waited a while, and it opened. What's weird is that, when I finally got the door open, the top "wall" seemed loose and dropped down. I could push it up and down about one inch. Then, after about 3 pushes, it stuck to the top as it should be. Now the door works fine.

We just had the same problem. Thank you so much for posting this... we thought we were in for spending some big money! Turning the power off and on worked perfectly.

Door ajar sensor

Its a thick pin surrounded by a rubber ring/bellows that is in the doorframe of each door. Each pin operates a switch. When the door closes it presses the pin in and when it opens the pin slides out so it protrudes into the door frame. Open each door one at a time and press in the pin with something strong like a shoe heel, this simulates that door being closed. Do it several times, till you find which switch is not working all the time. Change that switch by removing the rubber surround and unscrewing its fasteners.

Volvo xc90 rear hatch door closed and won't open

Hold the hatch hard closed into its frame whilst pulling on the release handle. The mechanism on most cars consists a grab/release on the door and a simple metal hop at the bottom of the frame. Over time the hoop can become loose and move slightly inwards each time the door is shut. The door seal rubbers push back on the door surround putting a lot of tension against the grab/release mechanism preventing it from releasing. By pressing on the door and compressing the rubber surround you will take the pressure off the release mechanism and allow it to open when you pull on the handle. Once the door hatch is open, loosen the mounting bolts to the metal hoop and move it out about 10mm. Tighten the mounting bolts. Shut the door gently as a trial close and check for security of fit. If very slack, ease the hoop inwards a couple of millimetres. When happy, tighten the mounting bolts securely. draw around the hoop mount with indelible ink so if it moves in future you have early visual warning and can remount it easily

I have an electrolux 2100 and it won`t shut off when i depress the top button? thank you

You need to replace the switch button:

Take out the bag and keep the door open.
While the bag door is still open, turn the machine upside down so you are looking at the serial number.
Pull the cord out one foot.
Use a puddy knife and put it between the rubber side rails and the **** end of the machine.
Use a hammer or malett to hit the putty knife from the back of the rubber bumber toward the bag door.
Pull the rubber bumber stright out on both sides.
Once both bumpers are out pull the lower body of the canister from the **** end toward the intake of the machine.
Once the bottom is open you can then service the motor, cord winder, switch, and all other components.

Front electric windows have droped slightly and do not shut on the rubbers correctly

this normally happens to older cars. Check if the mechanical in the door has gone loose or lost alignment. Normally they should be following the rubber surrounding the door's frame. Also check on the gears if it is aligning with each other. While at it check if the rubber on the door frame needs replacing.

Locked keys inside of 2000 dodge intrepid

If you have the master key,put it in the drivers door and turn anti-clockwise.If you cannot turn the key by hand, then apply some pliers to the key and ease the key to unlock.
If this does not work, place some padding below the key entry on the drivers door and hit one sharp blow with a rubber hammer or similar and the system should open the central locking system.

Top freezer opens when lower door is shut

This could be the door rubbers, try boiling some water and pour it slowly over the rubber,it would turn soft and wold return to the original state.

now close the door and with a hair dryer set on hot, blow on the rubber untill it seals all over.
let the door stand close for at least 6 ours...

Let me know if it worked..

Good luck.
