Sidekick lx My sidekick lx when texting only shows the number of the person. It use to show the 'name' of the individual i was texting but now it just shows with the cell number. Is there anyway of setting it back to the name instead of the number?

you must save the number on the phone's memory

u gotta get the sidekick data plan if u dun want numbers and want names lol

It is possible that you have not saved the number in the name of person whom you are sending message, or you might have saved that number twice in your cell phone, i.e. either in sim card or in mobile phone or both.

There is another way to check this. Try dialing the same number, if it shows the name of the person whom you have saved then its fine. If it shows the number only, then it indicates that you have have his number saved twice.

Try, you will get through this.

1: my sidekick lx is allowinq 2 differnet codes into my privacy lock . for example i change my code and it still allows my old code to enter , & it allows my new code .... what do i do ?

other sidekick users have very lonqqqqq away messaqes & they show up , but when i make a lonq away messaqe it doesnt work... why is this ?

It is possible that the backlight on your LCD is burned out. If you have a friend with a Sidekick LX, see if you can swap the lcd screens quickly. This will let you determine if it is the phone or the LCD screen

go to sim centre enable sim pin  change ur sim pin to a 4 digit number  (then the signal bars should show and u may be asked to wait for activation if that happens press menu + L ) then go to network options  select scan and selct manually  and choose ur carrier  internet will not work!!!!

Is the space bar on your Sidekick LX not working when you are trying to text or in AIM? Do you have thesame space bar button problem on your T-mobile Sidekick 2008? Does the Sidekick spacebar work in other apps though?
If so then this fix is for you.
1. Open the AutoText & Spelling screen. From the Jump screen, press the MENU button, then select Settings > AutoText & Spelling.
2. Uncheck the following settings:

• • Highlight misspelled words
  • Auto correct spelling

3. Exit out of the settings screen and try it out.

Run a manual spell check on T-mobile Sidekick: To run a spell check while in a text field from any Edit Text submenu, or by using the keyboard shortcut by pressing MENU +S.

Is the person in your contacts list? because thats the only way ur phone can know that person's name.

well i dont have a solution for this problem and i am really mad that i have to go through whole process to find out who is texting me but, if it makes your life any easier, you should press that menu button in the top left corner and "r" at the same time to reply that way the name shows up then just press the "cross/delete" button in the right top corner to get out without saving it to drafts. hope that makes a difference

Sounds like your charger port is busted. Ti is a common problem on sidekick 3 and can effect sidekick IDs as well. A fairly cheap workaround is to get an external battery charger. It will have a slot to charge the sidekick battery external formthe phone. They sell on ebay fior about 25 dollars.

The sidekick ID and sidkeick 3 batteries are the same so it will work. Check then out here
