Cd player it takes the cd but doesnt play it it only says error 06 . what is the problem and what does that error code mean ?

From Hyundai Owners Manual: Er6 - DISC ERROR - CHECK IF THE DISC IS INSERTED CORRECTLY IN THE CD PLAYER.
MAKE SURE THE DISC IS NOT SCRATCHED OR DAMAGED.

Error 6 means your laser isn't reading disc... needs replaced pick up laser. I would try first to insert a clean up CD and test your CD Player with an original CD, if the problem persist, you have to go to fix it to a specialist.

If you all ready try cleaning the CD lens now the next step is disconnecting the negative wire from the car battery for about 10 min. but make sure that you have the radio code before disconnect the battery or make sure that your radio does not have a security code, if nothing happen after this try you must send the radio for repair usually they have to replace de CD lens. the laser eye needs cleaning.....i actually just did mine today, just with a normal cleaning cd...if it doesnt work first time, smear a little nail polish remover on the cleaning disc, it works a treat........error 11 and 12 mean the laser cannot read disc properly......starts and stops depending on how much cleaning is required....

Error 1 Battery inside CD Changer needs to be replaced.

Error 2 CD error message. Mechanism has as eject problem or takes a long time to select CD.

Error 3 CD error message. The pick-up is out of focus during play mode due to scratches on the disc or contamination.

Error 4 Connection problem. Reconnect the data cable.

Error 5 CD error message. Could not read correct data due to CD ROM.

Error 6 CD error message. Could not read data from disc because it is upside-down.

Error 8 Tape Drive system defective. Eating tape or something wrong with the drive system.

Error 9 Weak RF. Try alternate frequency

Even though it says error 6 is an upside down cd, it just means the disc cant be read. usualy means the laser is dirty, out of adjustment, or not working.

Error 6 & 4 it means laser is not reading the disc and unforutunally you need to replace the pick up laser assy.
You can get it from pacparts.com,but I reccomend you to take to a proffessional tech because this is a "static sensitive" item.

Is this a "home burnt" CD? The code means CD ERROR #2.It is usually because the CD was written in a format the head unit can not play.If it is a studio CD. I would contact Panasonic and find out what code # 2 means.I had a code too because of what I said before but I do not remeber the # it was.
