How do i open the mbox 2 pro?

Please....how do i open the mbox 2 pro...something is loose inside and i want to fix it?

I found two screws under the rubber "feet" of the casing and I did find the one under the CE label on the bottomof the box, but what else is there? The blue plastic front cover does not have any screws (at least not visible!)

Is the abovementioned the same Mbox 2 Pro that I have?
Mine does not have any "handle", so I didn´t find how to open the "allen key" part... Actually I didn´t yet find out how to open my Mbox.

I have a bit of a similar problem and i have to get inside my Mbox!
Could someone help me?

I just opened mine.. it had 5 screws on either side just under the blue plastic cover. if u want to do it nice, then just locate the screw by puttin somethin in there, and use ur screw driver to make a nice hole just above that screw. i really couldnt find an alternative way to open that damn thing.

Installed pro tools 8 on macbook pro. when i try to open pro tools it says the hardware cannot be found. mbox2 is connected but the usb light is not on.

I had this problem as well... If this is a 2011 macbook pro you have os 10.6.7 which is not supported by avid at this time. We actually need to down grade to 10.6.6. You installation cd with your macbook pro is 10.6.6, so you'll need to install that, then go to the avid website and download pro tool le 8.0.5. Everything should work fine just don't upgrade to 10.6.7 until it has been approved by avid. If you need detailed steps look at the avid forum for pro tools. Step to uninstalling and installing the os can be found on youtube.com... Do not have your mbox plugged in when you install pro tools. I hope this helps!!!

How do i open the mbox 2 pro?

There are five shiny screws and one black one located behind the plastic front label (the part that has the markings for the input levels and switches), plus three behind the serial number label, inside the handle part you open with the allen key. This removes the front panel, then, there are about twelve screws around the plastic casing, attaching the casing to the inner metal encasing.

There are three screws behind the foam strip on the metal casing, which attach a heavy duty metal strip to the inner casing... the rest are obvious.

This is how to deconstruct the casing in the event that something is rattling inside.

Keep in mind, if you still have a warranty on your MBOX 2, you won't anymore once you deconstruct it. So I don't advise it unless your device is well past warranty.

Though, if something is indeed rattling inside, I'm sure that's a breach of warranty conditions anyway.
You had best check on that first, but you might end up taking her apart anyway.

Digidesign mbox 2

It won't be accessible from the inside. You got to get it out the way it went in.
A screw extractor might work, but it might damge the jack. You could try a large wooden matchstick, jam the wood end (duh) into the opening. While slowly rotating the stick, try to pull it out. If any part of the center is protruding, use a small needle nose plier to extract it.

PROBLEM KEEPIN MBOX 2 CONNECTION TO MAC LAPTOP

I have the same problem. Usually it will work when I reboot the computer. The trick is once you get the mbox working with the phantom power on, is to not turn off the phantom power during your session; the duration in which you use the mbox at that given time before shutting it down. You can switch the phantom off and it won't shut off, but if you press it back on, it may and for me more than half of the time it does shut off. I have a new problem with my mbox. I can't hear play back, even though I can hear sound from either input. Any suggestions?
