This model is equipped with a self-diagnosis feature to help with diagnosis of shutdown problems. To activate this turn the unit on let it shutdown then press the input/device and menu buttons on the front panel simultaneously and hold them in for 5 seconds after 5 seconds the power LED on the front panel will blink a two digit sequence. This will be one set of blinks a short pause then another set of blinks, this will repeat 5 times. 1 - 2 = no error detected 2 - 1 = X-ray protect (high voltage or beam current) 2 - 2 = Short protect (short protect monitors low voltage supplies) 2 - 3 = Deflection protect (this could be loss of vertical or horizontal deflection) 2 - 4 = Vertical protect (usually loss of vertical from the source) 1. MAY BE INTERMITTENT, SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. CHECK SOLDER CONNECTIONS AT CONNECTOR "DY" ON THE YOKES. 2. SHUTDOWN AT POWER WITH SELF-DIAGNOSIS ERROR 23 OR 24. It takes about 5-10 minutes to warm up, then the picture is fine. While warming up the picture wavy and jittery untill it warms up. Is this a picture tube issue?

You have bad capacitors in the power supply or around the 5v & 9v regulator circuits. If you have a meter just measure the outputs of the regulators. If you don't know what a voltage regulator is or does you should call a qualified repair shop. Estimate repair cost $250

Mitsubishi vs-60705 grenn power button goes on

It is an error code for short protection---the most common cause for this is one or both of the pico fuses that protect the convergence IC's are bad--set will detect no voltage and instantly shut off.

Mitsubishi VS-60705, Turns on/Turns off.

Unfortunately you will need an experienced TV tech.
This unit will need 2 ICs STK392-110 for 1 has shorted and caused damage to the 2nd as a result blowing 1 or 2 pico fuses in the power supply.
It is an involved job and may be somewhat costly depending on the pricing in your area.
Hope this helps Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4

Vs-60705

My Mitsubishi Model VS-60705 did the same thing a couple of years ago...A TV repair facility replaced the Video card. Any repair facility that works on rear-projection TV's should be able to repair your set. I bought the set on Jan 1, 2000. Coming up on 9 years and the set works like new.
