Please help...will not start for now.
The door light is controled by a switch that is mounted inside the body of the shredder and is operated by a bayonet type of prong that is attached to the door itself. The most likely causes are: the bayonet attached to the door has come off and the switch never is closed. The other possible is that the switch which is adjustable in most units has gone out of adjustment. If you look at the door and follow the bayonet's path, you will see a slit in the front of the unit the the bayonet fits into and if you look under the slit the screws that adjust the switch, one of which is in a slotted opening. Loosen the screw and pull the screw toward the front of the machine and that shouls cause the switch to be activated when the door is closed. The other possibility is that the switch is bad or the circuit board that the switch connects with is bad, and that's going to take the services of a qualified technician, and that means money. However, the simplest is ususally the switch. Let me know if this helps. Aloha, Bill Monroe
