Go to the volume screen. Tap the buttons for louder and softer. If the volume indicator does not move then goto solution A. If the indicator does move but you do not hear the voice say "louder" or "softer" goto solution B.

A. There is a problem in your settings file. You need to reset these files to factory status. This will reset all your settings to factory default. From the main screen hit Options then hit Options again. You should see a button that says "set to factory" or something like that. Click that and then reenter your custom settings as you like. Problem fixed.

B. You have a hardware problem. Call Navigon support for repair options.

Navigon easy 40 no sound

The usual problem is the voice volume is turned down. This can happen when you are adjusting the volume down just as turn by turn instructions are starting; thus you don't notice it happened, or someone else did it or software glitch caused it or Murphy's law.
The way to fix it is turn vol up to max and set navigation and start driving. As you get to navigation points where you would expect the turn by turn instructions hit the up volume button. Keep trying it will only go up whilst instructions are being broadcast. Try using repeat last directions function to get a better shot at it.
This happened to me and this was the fix, odd but true.
Also see if there is a turn by turn vol level in settings.
Hope it works for you.

No voice

Go to Garmin's Web Updater webpage and download and install the program. Follow the directions to update the firmware and voices. TTS types are "Text To Speech" and will read and speak street names, like "Turn right to Elm Street, etc. Those that lack TTS are standard voices - they will only say "Turn right in 100 feet" in the same place on the road.

Go though the device menu settings and make sure that you have a voice selected "Jack US English" or "Jill US English" are the typical TTS voices chosen for US English speaking drivers.

Good luck!

The gps sreen is disable and i cannot inter letter, number or touch the icon in the screen

Hello,

My name is Mike, I am a GPS expert. A lot of your problem is updating issues, and rebooting issue. Please read all this information below. Thanks So Much, Here is some of my personal experiences, Sense I am also paid to test new units that hit the market through manufacturers.

Update: September 8, 2011: Navigon was taken over by Garmin. There are NO MORE USA MAP UPDATES for this unit. If you buy it you will NOT be able to update the USA maps.

I'm terrible with directions so I bought this hoping it would help me and it did. It found the satellites immediately and kept me moving along quickly. It updates quickly and even if you choose a different route it recalculates a new route and maps it out instantly. The touch screen is responsive and easy to use. It's well made and doesn't feel cheap. The windshield mount works easily and holds the unit in place.

When you register the unit at the Navigon website, you'll find out that a software update is not necessary as of today. FreshMaps is supposed to be available this month (July) and you can sign up for E-mail notification as to when they'll be ready for download. The unit comes with a 2 gig memory card and you can install a larger one when it's needed. The operating system for the mapping program is Windows CE. No problems with it yet.

So far, I'm happy with this unit. It does what I need without a load of unnecessary bells and whistles.

August 3, 2008: As of today, FreshMaps update is now available for this unit. Just go to the Navigon website, log into your account and download the Navigon downloader program. Install the program on your computer and you're ready to go. You can even backup your old maps with this downloader program which is recommended before you download the new maps and install them.

October 1, 2008: Navigon now gives you FREE lifetime traffic information. You just can't go wrong. I've been very happy with this unit.

HERE IS SOME MORE COMPUTER BORING INFORMATION TOO:

The Navigon models, like many competitors, use a customized version of Microsoft's Windows CE as their basic operating system - augmented by a software package which includes the Map information, Points Of Interest, and the manufacturer's particular 'twist' on a User Interface (what you deal with, onscreen, to enter information and use the device). The Navigon units use a 2GB SD Memory Card to hold it all - which allows for an easy hardware upgrade (pop in a bigger Card) if the data-handling needs ever grow beyond 2GB. (In comparison, my ancient Garmin had a 32MB internal chip, and wasn't expandable.)

BOTTOM LINE, IS YOU NEED TO TURN POWER OFF, AND AS YOU TURN IT ON, HOLD ON BUTTON ALL THE WAY THROUGH BOOT UP UNTIL IT TURNS COMPLETELY ON THEN RELEASE ON BUTTON. IF THIS MANUAL REBOOT PROCESS DOES NOT WORK, NEED TO UPDATE UNIT.

I HOPE THIS HELPS, MIKE, FROM FIXYA

also to contact me for future problems, check out my direct market place site through fixya for other areas I am a expert in. Thanks Again, Mike

The music player of my Nokia 7210 Supernova isn't working because when I try to open it, it always say that "Not Enough Memory" even though I have so much of free space in memory card

Not Enough Memory error suggests that you dont have enough space to load the program into the Memory. Check Phone's Memory (It is about 30 MB total) if there is stuff in Phone's Memory then shift it over to Memory Card and cleanup the space in Phone's Memory.
It will definitely resolve this issue.
If even after wiping stuff from Phone's Memory doesn't work, reset the phone.

My Navigon 7100 no longer speaks the street names after I downloaded the latest software updates.

I had the same problem and this fixed it: Connect the navigon to your computer and go into the files directory and create 3 new empty folders, as follows: (You may want to back up your navigon 1st) After i created these empty folders, I was able to go into settings and turn Stree names on

Create these empty folders within MN6\sound folder.

My GPS stopped speaking consistently and then it

You will need to replace the battery. Either you can buy one of garmin website or you can use a third party website. Be careful of using those because some of those batteries are refurbish.
