Hi! I just bought an LG GSA-H55n internal super multi DVD rewriter. It came with a set up disk with power DVD, powerproducer, nero express and in CD. when i put the disk in the set up begins and then the screen freezes. I've tried everything I can think of, can you help please? Claire
Yeah i have the right solution,
right click on my computer ----> select properties and in that select ---->hardware tab ----> advance and select----> device manager ------> select IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers (expand it ) and go to SECONDARY IDE CHANNEL right click select properties and in that go to advance and in that change tha transfer mode to PIO ONLY from DMA IF AVAILABLE(its default)

Ok first if you are on windows xp and is up to date, this driver is supported by the system, you should not have to use an installation CD this is mere propaganda and this "programs" are not so useful and they may be too much for your computer to handle. However if you also have a second driver already installed in your pc you have to know about master and slave, your hardware should have come with simple instructions on how to make it slave you want to do this because your already installed driver is master. Now second option is that make the system scan for "any hardware changes" then if it need it go to the manufacturer website and download the software from there, if none of this works try to elaborate a little more about your situation. I will be happy to help!

I have the same problem with a similar LG DVD writer drive, every time I connect my drive to the motherboard with an 80 flat cable; Windows recognize it but then the "services.exe" start to use 100% of my CPU making impossible to do anything else. When I restart the machine with my drive unplugged, everything works fine again. I even tried changing the drive from a new one from the store but it happens again, I changed the flat, the power supply, everything but always with the same bad results.
