I have formated the mentioned notebook and did not have the drivers cd.
I managed to find all drivers exept vga card controler and vidoe controler. I tried to instal the drivers from the hp page but these 2 cannot be found, or installing would fail.. can you please help me?

Below is a link to a free program called RadarSync...Install it and then scan your pc, it will find updates or missing drivers. It will then give you an option to download said drivers free of charge.

To install your vga you have to go to http://www.getpcmemory.com/drivers/download-compaq-presario-cq60-notebook-series-windows-xp-drivers/ this is only if you formated by putting xp, there are two vga drivers there look 4 d one that fit yours. or goto http://www.getpcmemory.com/drivers or http://www.getpcmemory.com then type your laptop model and search 4 drivers. for assitance call +2348038625968

At the bottom of that site you will find 3 programs that will help you solve your problem,
Lightscribe System Software
And
HP Software Update
and
HP Help and Support for Microsoft Windows Vista
Download and install them, then run them, HP is known for good helping tools, one of those programs above will help you

yes i have vista home basic. the device status for standard vga graphics adapter is 'this device cannot start. (Code 10).. any ideas?

I used and instal the software followed in this link, http://www.radarsync.com/ it updated some drivers but the promlem is still there :(.
