Problem on burning CDRW

When I burn data files using nero i forgot to change the DVD drive speed which is 52x and my CDRW is 4-12x compatible, when i continously burn it.. it display the successfully burn but when i check my CDRW it does not have any copied files instead it becomes zero bytes free considering no errors or any abnormal settings that nero prompt during burning, problem now is how do i recover my CDRW whenever it happens again, or there are nero software that check first the CDR/CDRW if it is compatible with it settings before burning

Nero will only burn at the maximum speed the media can support. So if your media is only rated at 12x nero will try to burn at 12x or give you options for speeds below this, it will not let you burn faster than what the media can support.

Run the nero drive speed first before burning in your files, if your cd in a RW or rewritable, just erase it and burn again the data's that you want.

Cant burn dvd

You need a dvd burner a burning program and a dvdr burnable disk to be able to burn a dvd
Burning computer files on a DVD can be a great way to backup your information.
Most one-sided writeable and rewritable DVD discs can store nearly five gigabytes of information, while two-sided writeable and rewriteable DVD discs can hold over eight gigabytes.

There are many programs available for purchase that you can use to burn a DVD.
For the sake of this tutorial, we will be using one of the most popular CD and DVD burning utilities Nero Burning ROM.

Read on to learn how to burn a DVD.
Insert your writeable or rewriteable DVD into your writeable DVD drive.

Click on your start menu and select "All Programs," "Nero" and "Nero StartSmart."
Locate the pull-down menu at the top of the window that shows "CD" displayed.

Click on the arrow to view the rest of the menu and select DVD.
Find the icons under the pull-down menu you just used.

Click on the "Data" icon. Then click on "Make Data DVD."
Click on the "Add" button when the Nero Express window opens.

Find the files on your hard drive that you would like to burn to the DVD and select them.
When you're done selecting files, click "Finished."

Select "Next" to get to the Final Burn Settings screen. If you can select the speed at which to write your disc, select the 8x option.

Click "Burn" and wait as your files are burned to the DVD. Click "OK" once the window pops up telling you the burn process was completed successfully. http://www.nero.com/enu/index.html

DVD LG SATA GH22NS30 can read Avi video files that were burnt (using Nero Burning ROM) on DVD-R 52X and 16X, but not on DVD-R 8X.

This isn't particularly uncommon on the hardware or software side. Some brands just don't particularly play with all formats on all speeds of media or all software and yes, sometimes it will burn but not play back. You can try to update your drivers but there's no guarantee that will work, but it's one of the few alternatives you have. If the recording speed and playback is that much of a concern, consider getting a new one from a different manufacturer.
You didn't mention what version of Nero you are using nor did you mention your Operating System is. These are important factors to consider as well. I had the full version of Nero 6 and I tried to run it on my Vista SP2 system. It didn't like it at all so now I just use the OEM version that came with burner when I bought the computer in 2009. You might want to try another burning software just to see if there's a difference.

I Write a Data DVD in LG Writer of LG Writing Software. But it took almost 35 minutes to burn 4.0 gb of data. Using .... 40 minutes to burn dvd in nero at @8x; @16x burning dvd time 35 minutes. Plz...

You haven't given your system specification, like the amount of memory ram, processor speed, is it a new machine, duo core etc. The data you have burned on the disk, will depand on the software (nero) if it is converting the data, then it burns or it uses other form of encoding software to convert your data. Test your dvd writer manually, using nero CONTROL DRIVE"S SPEED. hope this will solve your problem. Thanks

Burning files to DVD..............

Hi,
You should be able to fill a DVD with files and burn using Nero.
Open Nero Smartstart ,Set to DVD,data, make Data DVD
then open a browser window, ie press the windows flag key and "E", locate the directory of files you want to burn, drag them into the Nero page. You should see the progress bar at the bottom of the screen gradually move towards the 4500MB position - this is the maximum for a DVD.
When you have listed all the files you want to burn, press next, change the disc name if you wish. Your DVD drive should be listed above the disc name - something like E:ASUS DRW-1608P3S ( this is my drive) then press "Burn"
If all is well, the drawer will open and you must insert a blank DVD into the drive. The files will then be written to the the disc.

If it does not work let me know and we can investigate further.

cheers

Memorex DVD+R DL 8.5 GO 8X compatibility

If all you are looking to do is write a DVD (ie, burn ordinary OS-managed files onto DVD, without transcoding, etc.), or write transcoded DVD-structured files, or an .iso image file, then don't even try to use Nero. Use ImgBurn, it is 500% better for those kinds of tasks, and it's freeware. I use it to burn DVDs but use Nero to transcode files and create the VIDEO_TS folder files. I then use ImgBurn to convert them to an .iso file, then burn it to DVD, also using ImgBurn. URL: http://www.imgburn.com/

Nero burn CD with different speeds.

Your burner can only achieve high speeds towards the end of the burning progress as the data burned reaches the outer areas of the disc. Burning starts at the center of the disc - the more the laser moves towards the outer end, the faster the burning speed gets. I have a 20x burner and 18x discs, and every burn starts at about 6-7x and then gets progressively faster, until the last 20secs of the burn it actually burns at 18x.

How to burn a dvd

If this does not work for you you can try the Nero dvd-video-plugin
This enables you to drop video files into Nero and burn dvd discs compatible with standalone dvd players.

If you have the full version of Nero you should already have this option.
