Ok well first when i try to scan in to the computer ti says that there is a system error so i installed the drivers again and it still wont work. i unplugged it from the computer and put it in again and still did not work. next the first time i tried to print, a piece of paper got stuck in side so i pulled it out. even tho i polled it out it still gives me clear paper jam. thank you for your time.

You have a very tiny paper jam that you have missed. You need to use a torch and tweezers and get right inside and look thoroughly and down behind in paper feed area. You will find a very small piece of paper somewhere broken off and jammed or a foreign object. Your scanning problem could be corrupted driver. Go to manufacturers site and download updated driver for your model. Uninstall printer completely before reinstalling new driver. Good luck

Any number of possible reasons why the drivers didn't install properly but that's basically what seems to have happened. Try uninstalling the driver, downloading the latest version (for your operating system) from the Epson Support section of their website and then reinstalling. Remember to have the printer turned off and the usb cable disconnected until prompted to do so. Might also be worth disconnecting from the internet (for safety) and disabling any of your anti-virus or other software while you install the drivers as they can sometimes cause problems. Obviously once you're done, re-enable anything you disabled and reconnect to the internet as normal. With a little luck that should cure the problem.

From the Scanner column in the Scan Diagnostic Utility, select your HP product.
Click Diagnose . The Scan Diagnostic Utility diagnoses various scanning problems, and then displays a list of results. The results display either when the tool detects an error, or when the tool completes the diagnosis and there are no errors.
If this utility doesn't solve your issue, please revert back.
If you can scan the USB port, it should be OK. If "copy" works correctly and you have recently installed drivers, try resetting your computer and selecting the printer as "default." Check if there is an impediment on the printer panel, blank cartridges or another error. The printer can scan but can not print if it has empty cartridges. 2. what is the OS of the computer?
3. how is the printer connected to the computer?
4. are you trying to scan from the printer or from the computer?
5. are you getting an error messages when you tried to scan?
Do you have the full-featured software driver installed? (Installed before connecting the printer to the computer.) Then you have the option of initiating the scan from the computer or the buttons on the unit. (The HP Digital Imaging Monitor Windows System icon should be in your system tray. If the program has been closed, restart the HP Image Zone software or reboot the computer.) There is a Start Scan button on the printer which should launch the HP software. Alternatively, start the Image Zone software and there should an option to start the scan.
These directions will only work if the computer and printer are both on and communicating with each other. If you get an error, try a new USB cable and try using a different USB port. If using a USB hub, try connecting to the computer directly. (If using a print server, try a direct connection. Check if the print server supports bi-directional communication; many only support the print functions not the scan options.)
First, I thought your assistance center would respond to my request since this same problem appears in the HOP website problems & solutions.
I did not resolve the problem after downloading the All In One Series software. It failed to complete the installation after hours of loading.
I did my own tasking and found that I could resolve my oproblem by Control Panel - Devices (printers) - HP 7130 Officejet-Scan Document.
Savuing the scanned document is quite different in this Windows7 setup from the prior XP. It is more circuitous to get to where I want to place the file.
Sounds like you have a virus that has eaten into your system.Try going back to a restore point before it was giving you that message.Another thing you can try is download spybot search and destroy and run a scan to see if there is any bots on your computer messing with your system.After you scan select fix problems then see if ti gives you the same message.Other than that not to sure except for a complete wipe and re-install of your system.Could be a partition messed up.
