You can this in display properties on desktop you can set it to 16 or 32 bit. But there may be another problem ie., if you have not installed the display driver software if it is not packed with your windows. install the driver from the driver cd provided when you bought the pc.

Monitor result change 16 colors

One of your applications are changing your color scheme to 16-bit because it isn't compatible with your OS or graphics card. Try reinstalling your drivers, then disabling programs one by one when the problem occurs. For example, games that used to run on windows XP or older tended to change the color scheme and resize the monitor to 480p.

How can i upgrade my 16-color to 32-color

Are you referring to color scheme? If so, you should be able to right-click on an empty space on the computer desktop, choose Properties from the menu that appears. Then, in Windows XP, choose the Settings Tab. You should see a drop down menu on the lower right titled Color quality. In the drop down menu you can choose 16 bit, and should have a selection for 32 bit. Select the 32 bit, click Apply. Then the screen should change to that setting and ask if you want to keep those settings. Select OK and you should be good.

I just reinstalled windows 98se but it only has 16 bit color is their a way to get 32 bit color

You need to install the Video driver for your graphics card to get full use of your display card with full feature.
    • There might be a motherboard CD shipped with your PC, it might include driver for your all devices.
    • Just put that CD and install the required drivers.
    • If you don't have any CD like that, then you should go to your manufacturer's site and make download driver for your device for Windows 98.

    Thanks
