Dell 1125 Cannot detect PC error

I can scan using the Paint Shop Pro 7 ''Capture Image from TRAIN'' but I cannot scan directly from the scanner, and it gives me the ''cannot detect pc'' error which I have come up empty handed so far on any search. Any ideas as how I can get the scan to work?

Is the Scanner USB2 and the PC USB1? That could explain it as the signals and messages go 40x faster with USB2 and at that speed, the PC looks 'dead'

If PC is Desktop, spend 20.00 and et a 2-4port USB card. If a laptop and you have PCMCIA slot, spend 30.00 and get a 4 port USB2 card for it.

Thats my guess.

How do i scan from my mp 250 printer scaner to my computer

I have many years experience repairing Canon scanners so here is my suggestion for you.

As long as the drivers that make your scanner/printer are installed correctly and you should be able to scan anything. You can use almost any software to scan with. Microsoft Paint will allow you to scan along with Paint shop pro or Adobe photoshop. Or you can google the make and model of your scanner and add capture perfect to the end of it and that should take you to a site where you can download capture perfect that program is free and it will scan both documents or pictures.

I hope this helps you out.

From this official link you can choose your operating system (windows XP, Vista, Windows 7), your language and download the latest version of drivers/toolbox for your scanner.

In case of a problem or clarification or further details needed, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer, including your operating system and prefered language.

I have canon PIXMA 145. I am not able scan . The moment i place paper and press scan it is showing " printer under repair error code is 2.144.0" Can u suggest me anything. Is it a machanical...

I have many years reparing canon scanners so here is my suggestion to you.

When I do my scanning, and by the way I own a canon pixma also. I do it through the software I never hit the scan button. You can do it through Microsoft paint by using from scanner or camera and aquiring and image. I use paint shop pro so I just open that program and just aquire an image from my scanner. I hope this helps you out but I think its a software problem, because the software takes full control of the scanner if you do it the way I just suggested.

I hope this helps you out.

How to scan with mac

    1. Connect a compatible scanner to your computer. A list of compatible scanners is available in technical document 107203 "Mac OS X 10.2: Scanners Compatible With Image Capture "

    2. Install any necessary software drivers that came with the scanner.

Note: Not all scanners require the installation of additional software drivers.

    3. Turn on the scanner.

    4. Press the scan button on the scanner. See the documentation that came with the scanner for specific instructions. Image Capture opens automatically and a preview scan appears.

    5. Select the area of the image you want to scan.

    75481_1.jpg

Figure 1 Preview image with area to be scanned selected

    6. Click Options in the toolbar to adjust settings specific to your scanner.

    75481_2.jpg

    Figure 2 Options icon

    7. Adjust any settings in the drawer that appears.

    8. Click Scan.
The scanned image is saved in your Pictures folder in your home directory and opened in Preview.

Note: These are the default options. They can be changed in the Image Capture toolbar.

SCANNER PROBLEMS

it's either a corrupted scanning program or a corrupted scanning system file. I would suggest that you try to uninstall then reinstall the scanning program that you're using or maybe just scan using resident programs like microsoft paint for windows systems or image capture for mac systems. If it works on these resident programs (PAINT and IMAGE CAPTURE) then we know that the software that came with your unit may be corrupted. Uninstall it including its registry entries then reinstall it (just the scan program).

Scanner hp 1315

Hi -
I don't have a Mac, so not entirely exact on your solution. But, I do have a suggestion to try -

if you use a scanner, you probably have a photo editing software of some kind (like Photo Shop, Paint Shop Pro, etc etc). Within that program, there is an option to obtain the image from a scanner. You should be able to use that function instead. I know that with my WinXP, I could import from the scanner in Paint Shop Pro MUCH easier than trying to use the actual HP buttons on the 1315.

Please note that the 1315 will also only scan flat items well. If it is 3D, like jewelry or oddly shaped objects, you'll only get fuzzy-edged pictures. The 1315 has no depth perception, no matter what setting combination you use. Not HP's finest moment, for sure. I had this printer for a month or two before I was fed up, and went back to a separate printer and scanner! : /

Good luck!
