Kenwood kvt m700- playing cds

I have a kenwood kvt m700 setup in my car that is connected to a seperate dvd/cd player... when i put in a cd, the music will start playing but i seem to have no control over the music aside from the volume which i use the physical up and down buttons on the kvt m700 unit to control... the source to recieve audio from cds and dvds is known as "video 2" on my kvt... there are no onscreen control buttons such as pause play or next track.. and there is no "cd" source option...

in the manual it shows screen shots where "cd" is an actual source option, and the on screen buttons music control buttons are shown as well... why doesn't my kvt m700 seem to have this source option? and how am i able to perform such basic functions as changing tracks??

also i put int a dvd as well and it runs just fine, sound and picture... but once again, there seems to be no way for me to actually start a movie or select different options on its main menu because there are no navigation buttons that appear on the touchscreen...

does anyone have any suggestions?? this unit is so complicated, if i don't figure out these basic things i might just switch to a standard, NO NONSENSE cd player although it might cost a little bit to get this uninstalled...

The M700 is purely a monitor so you will not be able to control play, pause, stop, skip, FF or RWD. I use my DVD player as a CD player and have to use the DVD remote to change tracks.

Hi
Guess your car's wires haven't been cut. Go to any stereo shop and get the harness that's specifically for your car. The colors on it will match all the colors on the clarion harness. Connect like colors, plug in, and you're done.
Please check the below mentioned site for the wiring diagram which will help you for the installation.

You don't need a code, it's unlocked by the remote that came with the unit (small purple one)

I have a kenwood kvt-m700 dvd player that gets sound but no picture when i try to play a dvd

The only way to play DVD's on your M700 is to have the handbrake on. Although you can get round it by plugging the DVD into the second set of connectors (AV2) instead of the first (AV1).

Kenwood kvt m700 help

Bu the sounds of it, you will only need to enter the mask code if the memory wire becomes disconnected, so I would assume that you have your power(red) and memory/constant 12v backword, or both hooked up to the power wire

Kenwood kvt m700

The unit is clipping which means it's too loud, lower the volume and should be fine.
