Tv will come on for a few seconds and then goes off. It does not matter if I use the remote or the controls on the tv.
If the TV goes off completely, then is usually a faulty power board.
If the TV goes in standby, then it is in protection mode.
Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.
The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible causes.
1The
internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic
charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read
by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the
protection circuit.
2 The protection circuit detected a wrong
voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in
, starting the flashing light.
If you are in situation one, then the TV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.
If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.
Common faults
that can occur on this set are a blown capacitor on power board, a faulty LCD controller board, a faulty .
In your case it is probably a faulty inverter , or the power board since the TV comes on for a little while.
If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual
If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

Pay particular attention at inverter and power board, power board can be inspected looking for bulged or leaking capacitors, then tested with a multimeter. The inverter is more difficult to test , there is need to read voltages, should be done by a tech.
Check the service manual here:
Polaroid Service Manual
Here the pictures of Power supply unit, you can see the 5 big capacitors, they must be allowed discharge before testing.
Here the whole PSU available for purchase: POWER SUPPLY UNIT, Polaroid 846240H3CZZSH at PartStore.com
If it is not the Power supply, then the Inverter board and the LCD controller are parts that commonly fail. The diagrams to test them are on service manual. The inverter is an high voltage board.
You find pictures of the inverter and lcd controller on link below:

Do not forget to leave me feedback.
Thanks.

Capacitors seem to be the problem in Polaroids. Can you tell me what size to buy and where it is located. I am looking at the open circuit board now.
Please tell me where to locate the capacitor and what size to purchase to fix the problem. I can attach a photo of the board if that will help you help me.
It is the Polaroid 26" FLM 2632
I attached the photo, but I never got a solution.
