A few days ago the lights on the control panel started flashing. It ran one partial cycle and then quit. Now it will start, but within a few seconds turns off, and the start light flashes. If you hit it the cancel light turns on and flashes and then sometimes both do. I tried the heated dry normal wash key dance but it isn't working. Any suggestions on how to reset or fix this thing?
Hi Have you tried resetting your house breaker to your dishwasher, by turning it off for 60 secs. then back on again? this should reset your dishwasher. By Start can you hear the pump out. or can you hear water filling the dishwasher?..if it only pumps out..it may be the Overfill protector. Check to make sure the overfill protector moves up and down freely. The overfill protector is located in the left front corner of the tub it looks like a little hat. it should move up and down easily. and you should feel/hear a click that is your float switch. also check the Door latch. Open and close the door to make sure the door latch is securely fastened. Next you may take off the console, and reset that control board to keypad console connector , by taking that loose and reconnect it. If that doesn't work, then you may need a new keypad console assembly. let me know what you are doing to do? I can help you somemore.
The seven flashes of the clean light
is the problem is an insufficient rise in water temperature during a pre-set time period. The heater fault-detection program that was added to the electronic control is designed to shut down the dishwasher if the board-test for proper water temperature rise is not sufficient.
the unit will drain and the clean light will blink seven times.
you will need to find out why the water temperture was not sufficienet rise could be wiring to/failure of the control,
heating element
the thermistor
the inlet valve
door switch
motor
capacitor
to reset
within 6 seconds press Heated Dry, Normal, Heated Dry, Normal'
all the lights should light up. and go into self Diagnostic Mode let me know if it helps..
turn off for 60 sec. then try
within 6 seconds press Heated Dry, Normal, Heated Dry, Normal then press cancel/start. this should reset.. if it will not let you it must be a bad touch pad and/or control...and they must be replaced... I just hope it works for you..
press cancel at then end
one thing you can try before replacing your key pad .. after turning off the power unscrew the control from the door. uplug the key pad from the control(ribbon wire )and use an pencil eraser to clean the contacts. reinstall the ribbon wire. and rinstall the control.. let me know if yout try it..hope it helps

We turned off the breaker for an hour. No luck. Sometime today it started flashing clean instead. When I say "start" it had filled at one point and then it pumped it out at one point. When it started you could hear water going in to it as well. The overfill protector moves freely. It also clicks when you move it. The door latch fastens securley too.
We took apart the keypad console and reconnected it. It is still flashing Clean. If it means anything it flashes 7 times, pauses, flashes 7 times. Thanks for the help.
We tried hitting those keys twice each in that order within 6 seconds. It didn't light up all the keys. I'm curious why now the clean light is blinking when yesterday it was the cancel/start button were the ones Blinking. Thanks again for the help. Awating more ideas
Which one is it the Cancel or the Start button? Mine are two different buttons.
That didn't work either and now the clean light and the cancel light are flashing. I'm assuming this means it's a bad key pad?
