The TV is about 5 years old. Worked fine up until yesterday. The set does not power on. The sleep light is red. It does not flash when plugged in. It just comes up solid red. The power button has no effect, no sounds, clicks, etc.
I have the back and front off. I've check a couple of fuses which are fine.

I would suspect the power supply on the converter is failing. You should see the power light on the converter go out if this is the case. If the light is going from green to red, it may be going to power save mode. (Menu->Option->Power Save Mode -> Off)
You may be able to find a replacement 9 Volt power supply for low cost.
I'd wager that somewhere in the menu settings, there is a "Sleep Timer". Check the menu for the sleep timer, which turns off the TV after a set length of time. Also, check your remote, there might be a "Sleep" button that would do the same thing, press it multiple times until it reads "Sleep: Off" or something similar.
try unplugging it and thn plug it back if the light comes for 3-5 sec. and goes off thn you will hear another click noise when it goes off. you never get a picture or sound. If im right thn there are several circuits in the tv that might cause this. the most common are the power supply and the convergence circuits. a cost of a repair for either will range around $400.00. this is a great model and well worth a repair. good luck:)
hey there! i finally figured it out!! If you have a computer hooked up with the HDMI cable in the back of the TV and the computer is either on screen saver mood or sleep mood then it is trying to make the television go to sleep aswell. So the only way you can have a computer hooked up to the TV is if you use the front HDMI hook up. pretty weird but thats what was wrong with mine. Hopefully that was the problem :):)
your problem is a more technical problem you will need a tech to look at your set if you are not a tech you wont be able to do it your self. contact a tech to repair your set the problem is in the power supply or related circuit.good luck.
