Question about Samsung HCL4715W 47" Rear Projection Television
The TV is about 5 years old. Worked fine up until yesterday. The set does not power on. The sleep light is red. It does not flash when plugged in. It just comes up solid red. The power button has no effect, no sounds, clicks, etc. I have the back and front off. I've check a couple of fuses which are fine. any suggestions?
At five years old, I doubt it will be worth replacing the power supply , a picture tube or two and possible the signal board. Cut your loses and get a new set.

Wait, there's more...
Yesterday I noticed some drops fo fluid on the circuit board and my immediate thought was my son and his friends. I wiped them away and didn't notice any more when I went down today. I must have missed something. When I tried powering it on there was a spark, pop, and smoke.
Further google research looking for fluid and projection tv's educated me to the fact that some tubes have coolant fluid in them.
Well now I suppose I have at least 3 problems. A) the coolant tubes B) the first shorted out component when the tv stopped working. C) what I just did this morning. I'm guessing this won't be worth repairing at this point. Any other opinions?
