I have a foot control as well as a remote control on my riptide saltwater 55 bow mount the trolling motor acts the same way with either on I use. It will not run in but 1 speed and that is in the lower speed. I have replaced the battery, (it was bad) I have checked my connections and wiring, I suspect it is in the control board??

Did the unit come with a strap to mount the transducer to a bow mount electric? Most units do... If not there is probably one available for the unit as an aftermarket accessory or accessory from the manufacturer... Regarding the transducer wire, just wrap and rout this up the front of the bow mount motor shaft so when you pull the motor up and secure it, it is not going to get in the way. You could cable tie the cord down near the bottom of the shaft and one up near the top where they wont interfere with the motor bracket when the motor is positioned up on the boat.

Sounds as if the motor has either bearings going bad and/or water has gotten in the housing washed the lubricants out. Motors do wear out eventually. I'm not sure if the brushes are replacible. Have you checked for any constrictions like fishing line? And also the contacts on the controller could have minor corrosion meaning take it apart if possible and clean with steel wool or a dremel.

Many times on the battery lead, actually the part that tightens to the battery, has a circuit breaker. You will notice a small reset button on each positive lead....of course there are two for a 24v system. Reset each one!
