This is a vintage machine and no manual exists. The closest I can find is the MJ-66. There is further confusion because they have a MP3 player with the same model number SJ MJ-15!
I bought one without a manual today for 2 dollars at a yard sale , blades lock in about a half inch - turn counter clockwise to remove, may need to press down or press button in back. base below comes off too for cleaning - turn clockwise. They may come off hard the first time. the button in the back may help releasing both. Make sure to unplug first. I don't have a manual either, just some mechanical sense.
they attach to each side of the metal bar. i threw the springs away because i couldn't figure out where they went, and now the unit shakes like crazy :) but i read up on it and found out the springs go on each side of the bar i think. 50 bucks will replace the bottom part of the machine (base and motor) https://www.unitycart.com/pjss/parts/parts_classic.asp
I have a copy of the manual. Put the bottle in first, add "2 trays of ice cubes," (does anyone still use trays?), then fill cooler to the neck of the bottle with cold water. Turn on.
If you want the full manual, let me know, and I can scan it in.
Since it was saturated with blueberries, pears and yogurt, the house began to smell, so I put it outside in a wheel barrel. In the morning it was covered in ants and the juicer now resides at the West Sonoma County Disposal.. Problem solved.....
i had the same problem and figured out an easy way to open it without the tool. DO NOT take out the screws. I simply used chop sticks. I put one in each small hole and held the chop sticks in an X and turned the top counterclockwise!
