Display Disassemblage Help Notebooks

Do you have any usefull Tips for Display disassemblage on Laptops? I need to change the Backlight on 3 different Laptops and maybe the Inverter too, could you give me helpfull Tips? Mostly i would like to know how to check the Inverter to make sure it doesn't need to be replaced too. Do i have to let the Laptop ON to check if it is receiving and giving out 12 volts to the Backlights? Any Help with this would be appreciated.

Hi, The inverter puts out a high frequency, high voltage supply to the CCF (florescent tube). It's output would then be high freq AC. You tried three notebooks, but did they have the same video adapters? Try a notebook with a different video adapter. i would say your video adapter isn't good enough to put out a dual display. you might need to get a laptop with a better video card

your laptop display mass color, it is not the issue of inverter.
there are two situations:
1) mass color you can not see any messages like letter or picture
2) mass color with some or any messages you can see.
above situations you need to check LCD sreen cable connection between LCD socket and the motherboard socket, plug back properly.if not fixed, there are some tips you may consider:
1) change the Ram if the display ram is not isolated.
2) the LCD cable damage need to change or
3) LCD screen damage need to change or
4) finally the motherboard display chips damage(rare)

If you're talking about you're notebooks display screen try connecting a standard monitor to you're notebook. There is a 15 pin VGA connector on the back of the notebook. Once connected restart the notebook. If you still do not have display on the monitor than you're integrated video card could be bad. If you do have display on the monitor, than you're notebooks video card is good needs to be repaired.

Hi

Normally notebooks last abt 3 years (3.0 GHz is abt 3 years, sorry) and then you will have to upgrade or change. In this case I suggest you get the "monitor" changed to a used one (I think u can find it in ebay) or buy a new one. The approx cost is USD 300.00 depending on the make of your notebook. U could also get it repaired if u can find a technician.

Dirty lense
To clean the lens accessing directly to the lens pick up you will need to disassemble the Nintendo. This operation invole risk of further damage to your WII, particularly if you are not exeperienced in servicing electronics. My suggestion is the following.
First try cleaning it with a dvd cleaner and cleaning solution, this operation involves no risk.
Check also if you are covered by guaranty, and eventually contact Nintendo to have your WII serviced.
If you want to proceed in opening the Wii, here are videos showing disassemblage procedure.
My strong suggestion remains not opening the Nintendo by yourself, unless you have done this many times on different devices.

LCD display
Could be a lot of things: here is general tips for no backlight:

First if there is a suspend switch (usually right below the LCD sticking out of the notebook) make sure its not pushed down.

second: Did the LCD have a red tint before it failed? if not its probably the inverter. If it did then its probably the backlight, but its best to test the inverter using a known good LCD first.

If you dont have one, then any repair shop that deals with laptops4.gif should be able to diagnose this pretty quickly (you shouldnt pay more than a 1/2-3/4 hour labor to take apart and diagnose.

if it really needs a backlight, it is a very difficult thing to replace the backlight - i see more people break the screen or electronics on the LCD trying to replace a backlight. always try an inverter first which is only about $20-$50 for the dells.

Its usually comparable in cost to buy an LCD ($100-$200 for the part on most models) than replace the backlight (150-220 is the typical labor charges i have seen. Just find out the part number of the LCD to match up a replacement. Try Bliss which sells screens on ebay - nice company to deal with and has a wide variety of screens,
