Try uninstalling and re-installing the software and drivers that comes with the device. The player thinks it's docked but it's not communicating properly to the software because the data on your computer has probably become corrupted from the freeze. If you have lost the software and drivers (or if you'd like to update your firmware) you can find the files here: http://us.creative.com/support/downloads/download.asp?MainCategory=213&nRegionFK=&nCountryFK=&nLanguageFK=&sOSName=Windows+XP®ion=1&Product_Name=ZEN+Sleek&Product_ID=13599&modelnumber=&driverlang=1033&OS=10&drivertype=0&x=14&y=12

I want to connect my mp3 player to either my soundbar or flat screen. How would i go about that?

Hi

You don't identify your make and model of MP3 player or your Flat Screen TV.

Some types of MP3 player can dock into a device (MP3 Dock) that has audio output connectors that can connect to either your TV or your Sound Bar with either standard stereo phono or HDMI cables (your TV has HDMI capability).

If no dock is available for your MP3 player, a stereo phono to 1/4 inch stereo jack will connect either audio Out or Headphone Socket to your TV or Soundbar. The sound quality may not be the best with this type of connection but it should be adequate.

A retailer like Radioshack, Best Buy, PC World, Maplin, etc. (depending on where you are) should stock these MP3 Docks and cables.

Hope this helps.

The screen says "Docked, please wait". It says

When this happened to me with my Zez I was able to reset it by pushing the reset button (located in a little hole next to the dock on the bottom of the unit) with a straightened paper clip or other small object capable of fitting in the hole for a few seconds until the unit fully resets.
If that doesn't work you can try putting the unit in to recovery mode to reset it by doing this:
  1. Detach the Zen Sleek player from your computer, and ensure that the unit off.
  2. Connect the power supply to the player (Optional, unless the battery is very low).
  3. Hold down the Play/Pause button, and then insert a paper clip into the Reset hole underneath your player, beside the data/power connector. reset_sleek.jpg
  4. Remove the paper clip from the Reset hole. The Rescue Mode screen will then appear.
  5. After the recovery mode has started, release the Play/Pause button

My creative zen is docked to my computer, but the computer says "no player ... My creative zen is not docked but has DOCKED on the screen and won't turn off ...

Unplug your player.
Look on the left side of it, you should see a small hole, use something thin, paperclips work well, to poke inside it, the restart button is in that hole.
Once it's started up reconnect your player, all should work fine now!

My Creative Zen Frozen in Docked Screen

Hello,

The following worked for me. Go to the Creative Zen Support warranty info page of their site:

http://www.creative.com/products/mp3/MP3PlayerRecoveryTool/welcome.asp?

I ran the recovery tool with my zen connected to the computer and it changed from being in a docked state to updating firmware, after it had done this it worked fine again.

My home theater is not reading my Ipod mp3 player.

Make sure the dock wire is connected to the right place, make sure that your version of the iPod is listed as a compatible model - the Philips iPod docks are picky. Also, make sure the home theater system is in DOCK mode.

I have an Archos 605 WiFi. I haven't yet connected my Archos docking station to the TV and HDD. Meanwhile, I thought I would copy a programme from the HDD to a DVD, then put the DVD in the computer and...

What kind of HDD do you have, do you have any type of output on it. You stated that you haven't connected the docking station to it and the TV...? The best thing to do is to connect your Archos to the Docking station. Set the docking station up correctly, with cables coming out of the HDD (if it has some sort of output) to the station and out of the station to your TV. Once you set that up, you can use the Archos as a mini DVR or VCR. Go to the REC option on the main screen of Archos, you'll have an option for Video Recorder (tab on top). If you play any source on the HDD, then all you have to do is press the Rec option on the Archos. If you already have a file on the HDD, then try just moving it over into the Archos once you connect the Docking station to your computer via USB or just use the USB cable connected to the computer with the HDD. I use the USB preference as Windows Media Device. (found under menu/settings/system). Is is basically a HDD itself. Remember the Archos will only play certain videos without the purchase of any extra plugins.
Good Luck

Docked word on my screen player

Reset first. If fails, Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

Creative Zen V Plus stops reading

· Make sure you have media player 11
· If you can, the best test is to try your player with another PC, to see if you still have the problem. This localises whether the problem is with the PC (most likely the USB) or the player. See the link below (search on "connection problems") for a lot more troubleshooting on this.
· Download recovery tool off creative's website.
