I have just upgraded the software on my nuvi660 and now it will not say the street names just says the ditances and when to turn. Can any one help. Nic

The voice recordings probably were overwritten when you updated your software.

Why rely on someone elses voice when you can record your own. Check this out:

http://www.garmin.com/garmin/cms/us/ontheroad/voicestudio

You can now get directions using your own voice. I used this on my Garmin and it works great.

Good luck

Device won't Record

I have had the chips become corrupt. It honestly has not happened much but It has happened. I have about 100 of these devices being used all day long, and I get about one per year. Try calling (800) 622-6372 for Olympus America. They have never helped me in this situation ( I feel I know more about the device than they do ) but it is worth a try.

Voice Recording

You will have to double-click my computer, double click icon of mp3 player, and remove it from the "Voice" folder, b/c the manual certainly doesn't tell you, and the menu tree doesn't seem to have the option

DS-400 DIGITAL VOICE RECORDER

went on the "menu" option and formated the disk. I first downloaded the files I needed to my computer. Took off the "lock" option.

Dropped and voice recording doesn't work

You need to replace the flex cable in the screen section of the phone...You need to get your phone to a good repair shop to get this done. It's a very tedious job. Must be only done by someone who knows what they are doing. The controls for the voice recording is controlled by one of the side buttons on this flex cable. Sam !
