BATTERY CHARGER IS THIS A SERPERATE ITEM

That depends on the camera.
Some cameras include battery charging circuitry. You plug the camera into a wall outlet or a USB port and it charges the battery. Some cameras come with a separate battery charger which plugs into a wall outlet or a USB port. Some cameras use standard batteries, disposable or rechargeable. With these you need to use a separate battery charger compatible with the type of batteries.

If you're asking about a specific camera, please add a comment to your question and specify the make and model of the camera.

Oes anyone know how to repair a camera (Lumix TZ7) which drains, even new, batteries very quickly

Check specification of battery needed by the camera. The milli amperes capacity and type of battery, such as nickle cadium. You might be using lower specification of battery that you camera needs.

I put new batteries into the camera but it continually tells me "low battery". What's wrong??? Do I need a specific brand or type of battery?

Yes, you are correct.

Digital camera need a high drain battery like NIMH or ALKALINE type, and don't a multi purpose ( standard battery).

My favorite battery is Energizer 2500 mAH ( recharged type).

Please check the battery you are using right now and replace it as guided above. If there is no internal problem on your digital camera, this recommend batteries will working just fine.

Is it necessary to put any specific type of batteries?

Yes, on Kodak cameras, for instance, they recommend LiIon batteries which have a higher voltage.
Some camera brands work off of regular alkaline batteries, though.

What kind of camera do you have?

How do you recharge the lithium Ion battery?

You don't say what the battery model is. Is it a AA, AAA or is it a specific battery for the camera. Some video camera batteries are chargeable while in the camera with the use of an appropriate mains lead plugged into the camera. With other cameras you need to remove the battery and insert it in an appropriate charger for the type of battery.

Charge batteries while camera is docked

what is the model of your camera and what specific battery are you using( what is on the label of the battery?)

when the camera is docked on the printer, you should get a little light indicating the charging status. Once it is fully charged, all 3 green lights would come on.

But, we need to know what is the model of your camera and what type of batteries are being used in order to determine if they are compatible or not.

Low battery signal

If you camera still tells you that you have low battery. It is possible that the battery that you put it was not desinged for digital cameras. Please try batteries that are specifically designed for digicams. You can ask store personnel this when you buy batteries.

Vivicam 5385

This means that you are using the wrong type of battery. You have to purchase a battery specifically designed for Digital cameras. Also i would suggest you use rechargeable batteries.
