Question about Kenmore 75503 Stainless Steel Dual Fuel (Electric and Gas) Kitchen Range
I was awoken the other night by the range beeping. Since it was 3:30 AM, I was mad someone was cooking! I came into the kitchen and noticed "f-3" on the digital display, and also noticed that the broiler elements in the main oven were glowing bright! I hit clear, cancel, everything I could think to get the elements to turn off! It was almost as thought the oven had autonomously gone into cleaning mode, except that the door was NOT locked and the fan and lower elements were not on! I eventually turned the breaker off! The next evening, I turned the breaker back on, and the same dance started again! Interestingly, when I pressed Bake, Convection, or Clean, the upper elements turned off. When I subsequently pressed clear, the "dance" picked up right where it left off! The broiler elements, when they and the oven were in this haunted mode, NEVER cycled OFF!!!! So the temperature inside the oven was God-knows-what! I have gotten the same "f-3" code once before, when some grease in a broiler pan caught fire, but that was almost a year ago, I had INTENTIONALLY turned the broiler ON, and I was fully awake and aware! I will keep the breaker turned OFF until I can get this resolved, since I don't want my house burning completely down while the oven self-cleans! My range is 5 years old, so there is no warranty, and I have gotten little help from Sears....

Well, I would have to agree that the oven is too hot! I will look into the main control....
Thanks!
