Philips Magnavox MWR20V6 DVD

I have been converting VHS tapes to DVD with the Philips Magnavox MWR20V6 DVD system and somtimes I have this problem. When doing the VHS to DVD setup it stops and gives me an error message (E26) basically stating this is NOT recordable (I assume meaning it is copyrighted material). The material, however, is many times just footage I taped of my own children etc. with a camcorder. Anyone have any ideas on fixing the problem.........besides tossing the Philips Magnavox MWR20V6????? Thanks, Gary

All of a sudden I cannot switch from VHS to DVD. The DVD portion seems to have died. I've had it about a year.

Its macrovision. You need a macrovision killer or a Go video. I am not promoting you to buy that but that would take care of the problem

Power off when inserting vhs tape

I had this problem when copying an old family vhs tape. I had to unscrew the top of the magnavox to access the vhs tape. Then, I gently removed the tape and replaced the cover. After winding the tape back, I put it in the player and immediately pushed fast forward for about 3 seconds before hitting play followed by d.dubbing. I was able to make a copy of the tape and did not damage my original.

Trying to dub vhs to dvd but the vhs does not have the security tab on it

this shouldn't matter as the security tab on the vhs only protects the data from being overwritten on the tape itself.

How do we dub VHS to DVD without remote?

Fisrt, is it set up already to dub. It willnoe finallize if not. If so then just put a blank dvd in, push dubbing, insert tape, check source to make sure it is going to dvd then push dubbing again

Dubbing vcr to dvd-

its the copy protection system doing this. if you have another dvd player or vcr, you can hook that up to a time base corrector box and run the output out of that to the dvd recorder, allows recording from any source.
