Downgrade from firmware v7.5 to v3.4

I bought a second hand PS for myself. My son got a new ons for his birthday. My PSP has some sort of Emulator with "preloaded" games (which I deleted since). I bought Tiger Woods 2008 (UMD) It works on my son's PSP but not on mine. If I try to start the game I get the following error: "The game could not be started (FFFFFED3)"

I have firmware v7.5 on my faulty PSP. My son's PSP has v3.4

Please HELP!!!!

Your psp is prob v 1.5 and has been tricked by a program to beleive it is a higher version so an play other games, it can be reversed, there is lots to learn on it if you google psp v 7.5, hope that helps

As far as we know right now, there is no way to downgrade a PSP 3000.

The older PSP 1000 and PSP 2000 systems could accept a special battery called a Pandora's battery and a special memory card with the PSP firmware. This battery would force the PSP to turn on and boot from the memory card. The special software on the memory card would load new system software of your choice (that exists on the memory card) onto your PSP. This includes older firmware or custom firmware.

As far as I know, there is no pandora's battery for the PSP-3000.

Emulators on PSP
First, download half byte loader for your firmware at www.wololo.com/wagic
Next, find an emulator compatible with the PSP
Place hbl and the emulator folders in the GAME folder on your PSP(Must be done on computer.)
Download ROMs
Place ROMs in the emulator folder, under ROM
Note: You can not run the emulator straight from the XMB, you must run it through hbl.

Downgrade psp firmware 5.02
Someone will have to run the flash program to get you back to M33. Pandora battery and Magic stick with M33 flash on it. Most homebrew and programs will not run on any M33 version above 3.9. New UMD games from sony will have the latest firmware and the children will usually run the firmware upgrade to play the game. It will allow the new UMD to play, but the Sony Firmware will write over the Custom M33 firmware and you will not be able to run the games on your Memory stick.

Hi my son just bought a second hand psp and bought a new game that needs the software update that comes with the new game.But we have since found out that the owner before has a non genuine update loaded...
Pretty much from what i have seen as a psp owner is that if someone installs custom firmware as you have described it permanantly disables any "official" updates sony has for the psp. SO actually for once a company is telling you the truth in that it is the only way to restore it and not just trying to get money out of you. I did the same thing with mine so i could have a few homebrew features for my psp. Downside is, no updates, ever. I hope this helps

Downgrade
To downgrade a PSP you will require a pandoras battery and a "Jig kicked memory stick" , these are easily bought of ebay for a small price and allow you to downgrade and custom firmware your psp. Otherwise there is a method that involves using a unpatched copy of GTA:LCS but for that you would have to look it up on google.

PSP with corrupt/unofficial firmware 3.03 OE-C (Code DADADADA)
Try to upgrade it 3.52 first and then jump to the latest 3.90. If you want to keep a CFW then check out http://www.dark-alex.org/ for more info.

Worst case you might have to 'unbrick' it with a Pandora's battery. See http://forums.qj.net/f-psp-pandora-discussion-207/t-guide-make-the-perfect-pandoras-battery-124530.html for a really good guide on how to make your own safely and the steps needed to 'unbrick' a corrupt PSP.

Unknown pin number
To do this, you can either install a custom firmware or try to upgrade it with a higher version original firmware. I think after the installation the parental control pass word will be reset.

you may need to downgrade your PSP for some Games require a lower "." number. there is a way to save your "3.40 and OE-A Firmware" loads on your computer to load again for another days gaming... however, i don't know how to do that. good luck
