Sounds like a bad motor, The buzzing noise is probably the motor humming then nothing because the thermal over load switch inside the motor opened. Timer will still be energized. Good Luck

Loud buzzing noise

seems the the motor is ****! avoid switching it more further to prevent its motor from burning!
motor could be stuck due to rust build-up.
or something might have jammed along the motor area or along the rotating part.

Dryer work turn on, buzzes when start is pushed

It may be just your timer switch. Look at all the wiring first. The receptacle to the plug, cord and into the back of the dryer.

Amana Dryer won't start

Depending on your interpretation of the 'buzzing' sound compared to mine, I'd say it may be a relay chattering or the motor trying to start up but the windings are beginning to fail. You may want to clean the motor housing from dust etc and make sure that you do that with the power disconnected. Also: with no clothes in teh dryer..try rotating it around and feel for any spots in that rotation that may be binding.. if the drum has excessive restriction while rotating.. the motor may not have enough torque to overcome that and just buzz,,, Hope that helps...

Kenmore dryer will not start

If the buzzing noise is from the vicinity of the switch, then suspect the push button contacts, if from within the bowels of the machine, then something is probably preventing the motor from running up to speed, it is stalled - (there are buzzes, and buzzes). This could be many things, from something mechanically jamming the drum, to worn bearings or a faulty motor/start circuit.
As I am not aware of your skills, I am not asking you to take the back off and have a look.
