well, if you can Ping it, then the firewall is not likely going to be blocking it. Regardless, which product do you have ? The Silver Stone 2-drive NAS ? If yes, you should be using the FNS Assistant (FNSA)
The Freecom Network Storage Assistant helps you to locate your Freecom SilverStore 2-Drive NAS in your network. It can also be used to:
- quickly open the SilverStore 2-Drive NAS configuration website.
- configure the basic settings.
- mount shared network folders.
a) Start the FNS Assistant and select the device from the device list.
b) Go to "Web interface of your Freecom Network Storage device" for initial configuration
Connect a LAN cable from your computer's LAN port to the SMC wireless router. Open a browser and enter the SMC configuration URL. http://192.168.2.1 The default PW = smcadmin
Setting up a login password only protects your wireless router from someone changing your wireless settings.

ti is a wireless printer. You will need to connect to the wireless network on the printer. you will need to check the wireless settings of the router. Click Here to know how to check the settings of the router.
Basically, if it is a wireless-ready printer, what you need is match the same wireless settings that you have from your router.
On most wireless-ready printer, you need them to connect temporarily to your computer through USB connection then run the Setup CD. You will then have the option to configure the wireless settings (the same that you have on your router), then install the printer driver afterwards. You'll be prompted when to unhook the printer from your computer to make it wireless.
i have a similar problem with SMC7904WBRA2 Barricade router. I can only intermittently connect from my Vista Home Basic PC to the router. Most times I am unsuccessful.
