Look in the console - or inside the dryer shell for the service manual. All wiring diagrams are in the service manual.

Kenmore Dryer Belt Diagrams and Replacement

Your dryer belt has broken and you have a new belt to install, but you do not know how to route the belt properly. Here are some pictures or diagrams to help you see how the belt needs to go. Of course the belt needs to go around the drum so that is not included.
The important part is the routing around the motor and the tensioner pulley.

For Kenmore models starting with 110 or C110 with a removable back use this:

Style: Flat with ribs
Installation Tips: Ribs against drum
For dryers starting with 110 or C110 with nonremovable back use:

Style: Flat with ribs
Installation Tips: Ribs against drum
For Dryer models starting with 417 use:

Style: Flat with ribs
Installation Tips: Ribs face toward drum

Neighbor has stackable dryer Kenmore. trying to figure out how to install new belt. one we have seems too big as it spins when turned on. we installed the belt around the drum then around the two pulleys....

Broken belt on Kenmore stackable # 417.99570140

replacement belts are v shaped or groved they stretch slightley turn the power off take the back off put new belt on the moter first then on the pulley slightley turn the pully and the belt will pull itself on to the pully itself if you guide it on

hi..
When your dryer drum isn’t turning anymore, it’s usually a broken belt. Tearing the dryer apart is usually straight-forward enough but stringing the new belt on the motor and idler pulley can be tricky. The Complete Encyclopedia of Dryer Belt Configurations shows the belt configurations for almost every dryer brand you can think of.
