There is no beep when you press the buttons. The suface light does not go on or the vent. The following buttons are on the panel:

    Beverage

    Reheat

    Potato

    Vegetable

    Time Cook

    Defrost Auto/Time

    Reminder

    Timer On/Off

    Clear/Off

    Display Start

    Clock

    Power Level

    AM/PM

    Turn Table

    Surface Light

    Vent Fan

    and the number buttons 1-0

You have to set a time (any time) to use.

Press CLOCK, press number 2 then 2 then 2 again and then press CLOCK again. Does it say 2:22?

Everything should now work.

Do not run Empty, do not use any metal in there and do not use alot (MW kills all the vitamins and nutrition in food - like eating MUD for your body) .... and don't forget to reset the CLOCK ;-)

Do any of the buttons BEEP when pressed? Could be a defect in the button scan circuitry.
What are the names of the buttons you have on the panel?

Microwave Panasonic NN T551 new does not start even after pressing clock button , no display to set clock . Icon comes only. As : after pressing stop button. No other button gives any response

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your Panasonic microwave oven NNT551. If the clock button is not responding and you only see two dots when pressing the stop button, there might be a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Power Cycle the Microwave:
    • Unplug the microwave from the power outlet.
    • Wait for about 30 seconds.
    • Plug it back in and try setting the clock again.
  2. Check for Child Lock:
    • Some microwaves have a child lock feature that can prevent certain buttons from functioning. Check your manual to see if your model has this feature and how to disable it.
  3. Reset to Default Settings:
    • If there is an option in the manual or settings to reset the microwave to its default settings, try doing that.
  4. Inspect for Physical Damage:
    • Ensure there is no physical damage to the control panel or any other part of the microwave that may be affecting its functionality.

Clock. 12 hr displays, input time, press START not Clock, that should do it.

Is the clock that has stopped working fixable?

Yes, but ... If this truly is a failure, you're looking at replacing the clock/display/control board. This is usually a VERY expensive solution. In some cases more than it's worth as compared to replacing the entire microwave. The clock not 'sticking' is a rather unusual complaint. I'd highly recommend that you dig out the owner's manual - or check on-line for one if you can't find / don't have - to make sure you're not missing a step while setting the clock.

The screen seems locked with no response to any touch pad 'key' I switched it off at the wall but now its just asking me to press the 'clock' key but no response. Before that it seemed to work at some...

Two possibilities...the controller has failed -- buy new microwave!
Second possibility...many microwaves have a child lock feature. Open the door up and read the labels stuck around the door frame of the cooking cabinet. If yours has this "child lock" feature, it will tell you how to unlock it.

If this helps you, please select YES to one of the first two ratings questions. Thank you, and Good Luck.

Locks up and powers down during use leaves a F2 display on the clock window

Can't tell by pict for sure, IF this is a Microwave that is vented. Is it possible your vent it needs to be cleared. Sounds like possible moisture in the microwave, This would shut it down in the middle of a cycle. The moisture would happen from poor or clogged venting.

Kenmore elite microwave oven displays "Locked" and will not respond

My Kenmore Elite microwave (don't have the model number in front of me) also mysteriously locked its own keypad (we were sitting in an adjacent room, heard a strange beep, and got up to find the LED reading "Locked."). I pressed and held down the Stop/Clear button for ~10 seconds and it returned to normal.
