I just opened one with the same problem. The bi-metal switch / thermostat was completely burned out and melted into a small lump of metal. Unless you can get a replacement for that it might be the cheapest to go to a store and buy one new for under $80.

Does timer operate? In other words, if you set it on a time will it countdown and ding the bell? If so , then it is almost certainly the thermo (very flaky on this model) or your thermal overload (one time safety that acts like a fuse and looks like a diode) which is inside and can only be replaced by someone familiar with electric repair. I have had one of these for 2 years and the thermo never has worked correctly and after a few months the little plastic cam (that the door lever rides on that holds door closed and in partly open position) wears a groove and won't keep the door closed. I lost my receipt so I am going to see if HB will send me a new cam and thermo (although I think they are all incorrect as far as temp accuracy) without charging. If you got this at Wal-Mart or Sam's and have the receipt they will take it back for credit or exchange. No time limit at Sam's.

What can I do as my oven stopped working yesterday whilst heating up .Both hotplates work. No lights coming on oven switch. No fan working. Help please

If the oven is not working, the fan is not working, and the light is not working, it suggests that the oven switch is faulty as that is the only common part for all 3 things. It might be a broken wire or a faulty switch. You will need to dismantle the oven to gain access to the switch and then use a multimeter to test it. if you do not know how to do this, then get an electrician or oven repair company to help, as there are dangerous voltages inside an oven than can give you a shock or kill you.

Oven works but is not heating up what can I do or check for to restore heat

Check for correct power at the heating elements, if its there, the elements are burned or shorted.

How can I troubleshoot my kitchenAid toaster oven? The timer works but the light will not go on, and it will not heat up on any setting.

I was able to replace parts on the circuit board (P/N: 128301_timer_pcb) to fix this issue on my KCO253CU Kitchenaid Toaster Oven. R1 was visibly burned. On further troubleshooting, ZD2 was found to be shorted.
Known Failed Parts Replaced:
R1: 47 Ohm 2 Watt resistor
ZD2: 47V Zener Diode
Other Parts Replaced
C1: 1.5 uF 400 Volt Film Capacitor
ZD1: 5.1 V Zener Diode, tested OK but replaced anyway.
See attached photo of circuit board for component part numbers.

Not heating, but light works? How do I fix this problem?

Your oven is obviously getting power if the light is on. If your heating elements are not getting hot you may have had a switch go bad, a wire come off it's terminal, or possibly a fuse that blew if your unit has one. There is really no way to know exactly where the problem is without taking the unit apart and visually inspecting it. If all the connections and switches look good, some electrical diagnosing is needed to see where the problem is. If you find any wires or switches that have any melted or burned plastic, you will need to repair the connection or replace the switch. If there is no obvious problem, you should have it looked at by a technician who can properly diagnose the unit.

Heating units bottom stopped working. Then the top heating bars stopped working. It's a radiant oven.

it is several prosibilites for your problem:
1) the wire of the oven is damaged;
2) the thermostat is decalibrated or damaged;
3) one or more heating element is intrerupted or burned.
solution's:
1) check the wire an replace or repair where is posible whit similar heat resistant wire;
2) replace the thermostat whit similar one;
3) replace the heating element

This toaster oven gets extremely hot

Definitely return it. It has a partial internal short which is appying full power to only part of the heating element causing th excessive heat. No properly working appliance should make the outlet hot.

Slow to heat Haier Convection Oven

you are correct . it is the convection . the fan blows the air around and away from the elements ,when that is happening the elements can never get hot enough to glow , as the oven gets hotter and at some point the air is so hot even with it blowing the elements will start to get red ... this is good because todays elements are thin and cheep and melt easy so the fan keeps the heat away from them and the elements last longer ...... if this answer helped please rate it a 3 or 4 stars .this high rate will help keep me in the paid answer department ... thank you

Top element not heating

I found that the heating element in the top front was burned off at the end. I removed the side cover and the ceramic insulator from the broken end. I then grabbed the broken end of the spring inside the glass tube and stretched it to where I could re-attach it to the connector. It now works after getting it back together.
If you attempt this repair, UNPLUG THE OVEN FIRST!
There is also a security screw at the bottom of the side cover.
