I have a 2400+ Sempron processor, Asrock K7VT4A-Pro Motherboard, 1x 256 MB RAM Kingmax, 1X 512 MB Ram Kingmax ( 768 totally) A 80 GB HDD IDE Maxtor, A 7300 GT TDH form LEADTEK. The problem is: I bought a new DVD-RW from LG but not on IDE but on SATA (since the motherboard has SATA) and from that point all hell is breaking loose. After 2 computer restarts the DVD didn't read the discs anymore. I took the dvd out but the computer is gone wild! my mouse cursor doesn't always appear and after a few minutes it freezes!
Draxxer, Got another mouse you can try. Another thing you should to is get online on another computer (of course), find and download the floppy version of Memtest86+ (not memtest86), unzip it and get it started. It will produce a bootable memory test diskette. If you don't have a floppy drive, download the .iso version of the program and burn the .iso to a CD via Nero (or whatever you have). The diskette or the CD cannot be read by Windows, so don't even try. Simply boot up the problem computer using the diskette/cd and it will automatically check for memory problems. If you see ANYTHING in Red, then you have a RAM problem. Let me know what happens. ZT3000 "Beta tester of "0"s and "1's"
