My window unti is dripping water inside the bedroom room.

I was told the consensation motor? was tore up on it and that was why it was leaking/dripping water inside my bedroom. The unit was unit was tilted and sat correctly in the window. my uncle even drilled a hole in the back of it outside to let water run out and it still ran out the front on the sides inside the bedroom. I had to make a gutter thing for it out of some plastic and duck tape to let water run into a bucket. My contraption was ugly , but it worked last summer. Any ideas on how to fix this please. The unit cools great and i would not like to soend money on new a/c unit if this can be fixed....

There could be an obstruction in the bottom.remove it from the window and remove the case.check for anything obstructing water flow (condensation) to the outside.

Why is this not cooling

Is it a portable a/c unit? Is it vented properly- out a window? Does it shut off if the drip pan is full of water?
I have a different brand portable a/c unit and find that while they say it can cool a room, I don't think it will work well on its own- a window unit would be better. I use mine in a bedroom to cool a little more than my central unit.
These units need to exhaust hot air outside the room it's trying to cool. Some will shut off if the internal drip pan fills with condensation to avoid water spilling and damaging floors.
I don't use the "auto" mode on mine, just set the temp and make sure the compressor on in manual.

Water is dripping inside the bedroom from our window unit. The unit has been in use for several years without a problem.

this sounds as though you need to service the drain pan.. you will have to pull the unit out a bit to access it . Under the evapator coil the one that is inside the house you will see a pan under it Look for a drain hole or pipe and clean it out.. you can put a bit of Clorax and warm water down the pan but rinse it out as well. then just be certain that the unit is tilted to the outsid eabout 1inch or so . Hope this helps let me know Jon

I have just purchased three First Alert carbon monoxide alarms. My home has a basement and bedrooms on the first and second floors. My questions stem from the installation. Should the installation...

When I worked Electrical in a Hardware store we were told by Nighthawk and f\First Alert and we told our customers that you want the detectors 4-6 feet off the floor never near a water heater or furnace since this can cause false alarms. The CO will rise, so one on each floor should be enough near a central stair if possible. Other wise make sure at least one is in the bedroom.

The ac is dripping inside the room

Hello.
You need to clean out the drain pan. Also unit shold be tilted back a little so water will run outside.

Remove the front grill and using an old tooth brush clean out the bottom pan where water is laying. Also be sure the drian hole outside the unit is clear.

Have 5000BTU Goldstar window unit. Water dripping

the bottom of the case from the outside usually has a "divot" in it below the coil to allow flow from the hose that runs across the bottom of the unit, try pressuring up and "blowing out" any obstruction, if this does not work then you may have to disassemble the unit and verify the drainpan is not cracked below the indoor coil (rare)

Where to put water

Has someone told you A/C units need water? This I've never heard of. The water you see dripping from an A/C unit is the condensate dripping off the evaporator -- it's removing water from the air when it cools it.
