Ccd not functioning

I am getting a pinkish distorted object in the LCD screen. If I see through the optical view finder and click, only the distorted image is captured

Fixya does not offer a repair service for any equipment. Have you checked that there is not a menu setting that you have overlooked? The manual may be helpful in this.

Sony had a certain issue with the CCD chip on this camera. If it's this issue, they'll fix it free plus $20 until March 2010.

Lcd and view finder stay black

Due to ccd imager chip failure in DC-F717 camera, you do not get live view to take pictures in LCD and view finder. CCD imager chip will be replaced to correct that problem, Sony offers free of cost repair for same problem in this model. Click Sony CCD Imager Support for details.

It is problem of bad ccd imager sensor and that part requires replacement.

Its known problem of ccd imager in Canon ZR85 camcorder and ccd imager needs to be replaced.

Canon will repair your camcorder free of cost as per announced scheme for ccd imager issue.

cant be sure without seeing but sounds like the ccd sensor is faulty,not one that can be sorted without sending to service im afraid,make sure you ask for est before paying
