I'm trying to play movies from my USB port, but when I plug it I can't .... My LG 47" TV will recognize and open the flash drive, but shows empty.

I suspect that with the age of the tv that it does not support videos from the USB drive. It will support update files for the tv itself which is normally something a technician would use it for.

This is definitely a display issue ,going black could be the inverter or cable, as you are getting vertical line, it seems you need to change the display.It seems the heat produced by the video card in your system is too high if the cooling is not enough it might give you this problem due to over heating. Maximum GPU Temperature (in C) 105 C for nvida GEFORCE GT 120M.

The screen resolution for your laptop is WXGA++(1600 x 900) which is 17",for this kind of display I would say display nothing less than 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 is high defination (HD) display.

You need to change via tv selections option for tv, this should be possible by selecting the source for tv feed. This should give various options to select hdmi11, hdmi12, scart1 ect. If remote not working to change look on the tv itself for the control buttons, normally on the back to 1 side (rh from front) then pressing the correct button. If this does not work try turning power off to tv for a couple of minutes and then turning back on. Hope this helps.

My phillips tv model # 55pl9773/17 sound is too low when im watching regular tv, but when i switch from tv to av1 or av2 (watching a dvd movie or playing video games) the sound is normal. How do i get my cable TV to sound the same?

Ensure ya go to the manufacturers web site and download the latest drivers for your USB TV and install them... Once ya Video card & USB etc Drivers are all installed, reboot after each install, insert ya USB TV device, follow any instruction regarding a Driver, simply point it to the driver files if asked... and proceed to try ya TV software.
