One cord is all you need if it works . the ac cord might be bad . but most likely the cooler is bad ..... i am a ****** for these coolers i have had a few (4) i have none now all of them burned up and stopped working or cooling and when it does work all you get is 20 degrees below outside temp every time does not matter if its the one i bought in 1990 ( that kept killing my battery) or the last one i had bought in 2005 that one was better it cooled 25 degrees below the temp in the truck a little cool but hardly close to cold and lasted about 6 months ........ dont spend a lot on a cord , you will be sorry .... myself i think i will wait another 10 years or so before i try again ... good luck

Were do i get a s126smd3 power supply board at

well, buying that specific supply is not easy. However, you can use any 12v DC supply that has 6A of power available to replace it.
You might have to be a bit creative on mounting what you find, but it will get you back up and running

Thermoking

This system uses in conjunction with the transformers a rectifier which converts the High AC current voltage (220V-AC) to a Low AC current voltage (12V-AC) and then the rectifier converts that energy into the D/C current (12V DC). The two diffrent 12V power sources are controlled, operated by a "electric" relay, via a roadside or electric selector switch. DS_TK TECH

To keep a constant 40 degrees the fridge would have to be running 24/7. Any fridge will maintain the 40 degrees but in your case, if you are going to be travelling, you should be looking at a fridge that can run on mains and battery power. It might even pay you to invest in an extra battery, dedicated to the fridge and charged by mains power and/or the vehicle alternator.

Does it really cool to 40 degrees

Many of the beverage coolers that run on the 'solid state' principle will work...provided the temp in the car is not more than 70 degrees. You can get one at any auto supply store for 40-100 dollars.
