When I select sleep or hibernate mode - the monitor stays black...
I'm running Windows XP on a Sony XP desktop 2006. Purchased the ViewSonic 19" from Fry's and looks great. One thing that bugs me is that when I select sleep or hibernate mode, the monitor does not come back on. It stays black. Please help.
Re: When I select sleep or hibernate mode - the monitor...
If the monitor says "no signal" then "going into sleep mode" and won't wake up - do the following: Set the Power Options to not enable hibernation on Hibernation Tab. Put the computer into sleep mode by briefly pushing the Computer's Power Button. Then bring it out of sleep by tapping "Space Bar" or "Escape" while moving the Mouse at the same time. The monitor should wake up. This method allows you to turn off the monitor power button and re-awake it without needing to restart the computer when the monitor won't wake up. Obviously be sure the monitor power button is on before you try to awake it.

If you are running Windows 7\8: Leave the ViewSonic projector on. Right click anywhere on the desktop and select "Screen Resolution". In the display column, it will give you an option to select your computer monitor, the ViewSonic, or to clone the displays. Select your computer monitor display only. Shut off the ViewSonic projector.
If you are running Windows XP: The process is basically the same except you find the settings under Control Panel > Display.
have you tried if the monitor on another computer?
otherwise it must be bad configuration.. try right clicking on the desktop, click on properties, configuration, and then you will see 2 monitors.. if you go in advanced you can also play there to tell wich one will be the firts monitor..
you could also reinstall the video drivers of your laptop and there will appear an icon on the task bar so you can configure how will the screen be working..
Hi. Try booting in safe mode; Press F* key as soon as you turn PC on and keep pressing until you get a screen giving you some options. Choose Safe Mode or Last Known Good Configuration. If it allows safe mode, wait until windows loads (it will look strange to you), then go start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore and select restore my computer to an earlier time. Then follow the prompts. Because you were deleting things, I have a feeling you may have inadvertently deleted a system file or two. If you have a windows disk you could use that to repair your system, but that's the next stage.
1. Make sure that the monitor supports 1680 x 1050. 2. If you are running Windows XP or Vista, right-click the desktop screen and then go to "Properties". 3. Go to Display tab. 4. Change the resolution with your desired one.
i) my wiser advice would be, just dont mess with this bug try, reload your OS or format your Windows Xp or reload you OS Freshlly...
before doing this try to run antivirus, spyware scan by using an good security system(such as bit defender from microsoft, norton, avg.....) fully on your complete system(it may longer time but it is safe)
i'm sure that this problem will not persist after this try to purchase an antivirus program to avoid any problems of such type....
Restart you computer in safe mode (press F8 when you turn it on) select boot with networking update your antivirus and do a full scan than scan for spyware. This might take care of the "bug" that is doing this to your computer.
Try to use it in compatability mode.just right click on the .exe file and select properties and then select the compatability tab...and select lower operating system and check the box given.
Hope it works..
