Hello,

1. check the power cords- make sure all are snug.
2. check and make sure no pins are bent in the cord to the computer
3. make sure that the monitor is not in auto-power save. Or in auto off mode. For example- is the light amber or green.
4. finally, make sure that your settings on your computer are not set to power off your monitor- as in a blank screen saver, power save or hibernate

OCD LOCKED pops up at random

There might be signal issues from the source device; with intermittent problems, I recommend cleaning all the pins on both ends of the connectors and then removing and re-inserting the plugs a couple of times in hopes that it is a connection problem on one of the cable ends.

The guide you told me to use did not have my model number W17q so I could not use any of the information.

Hello, try this link to the hp website where you will be able to view a user guide.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00881436.pdf
If you want further info, then go to the main hp website:
www.hp.com
and select 'Support and Drivers' then on the next page, type in your
product 'W17Q' press 'search' then on the next screen scroll down and you'll see several options from which you can choose.

Have to hold power button in to keep monitor on

That power button internal switch has gone bad. They are usuallya rubber boot which presses 2 peices of foil together. Once it goes bad, it has to be replaced. No easy fix or temp solution.

Power button on monitor

Looks like a loose contact in the button assembly. You will just need to get the button assembly replaced. Can be done at any computer service shop.
