Question about Frigidaire FAD704DUD Dehumidifier

Open Question

Fan running but not collecting water

Hi, I have a Frigidaire Dehumidifier (model: FAD704DUD) that I got last year. It ran fine all last summer, I had it off for the winter and just set it up in my basement again a couple weeks ago. I have the drain kit so it was draining through a hose to a drain in my basement (again this worked all last summer). Since turning it back on, there is no water collecting or draining through the hose. A few days ago I removed the drain kit plug and capped the hose output. There is still no water collecting in the bucket. I have it set to 40% and the current reading says the room humidity is 65%, the fan runs constantly and it sounds as if the compressor is coming on and off periodically, but still not water collecting. Filter is clean, no visible ice on the coils. Any ideas? Thanks. -Seth

The bucket fills up but we have to put a towel down because it leaks all over the floor. What could be wrong ?

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the bucket fills with water and overflows on your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD704DUD. Please make sure your dehumidifier is installed on a level that will support it with a full bucket of water. If the dehumidifier is moving when it fills with water then this could possibly be the cause of the bucket overflowing. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

My frigidaire dehumidifier fad704dud does not turn on when plugged in

Good Morning Robert,

I understand your Frigidaire dehumidifier, model# FAD704DUD, does not turn on when it is plugged in. I also see that the display lights up briefly and there are no error codes. Your appliance is designed to operate between 41 degrees F (5 degrees C), and 96 degrees F (35 degrees C). It will not work properly if the temperature is out of this temperature range, or the performance of the unit will fall greatly. The "Compressor" circuit has an automatic 3 minute time delayed start if your dehumidifier is turned off and on quickly. This prevents overheating of the compressor and possible circuit breaker tripping. Make sure the tank is fitted correctly otherwise your appliance will not turn on. If you are still having trouble, you can contact your local authorized technician for further assistance. Hope this is helpful.

Hello , I have goldstar dehumidifier model #DH40 . It's freezing from back grill? Can you please give me some solution to it? Thanks for you're help

It sounds like not enough air flow. clean the filter. I would suggest unplugging it and let it set for a day to dry out then replace filter and clean the air path including coils.

My dehumidifier says the bucket is full, when it is empty. the red light flashes and it beeps. I can't get any buttons to work. I have taken the bucket in and out several times. Any suggestions? It did...

First, the unit may need to be cleaned and after that, unit may need to be reset. Turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to OFF and unplug the unit for 12-15 minutes. Then plug it back in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the controls as you normally do. Hopefully, that 12 - 15 minute timeout, allowed the electronics to reset themselves. If this continues to occur frequently, contact an authorized Frigidaire Service Center

Hope this helps you troubleshoot and solve the problem.

You can test it out by disconnecting the power cord, wait five minutes and plug it back in. If it retains the original settings you are good to go. If you are wondering before purchasing a new unit ask before you buy.

No water colledction

Check to see that the air is flowing freely through the dehumidifier. They will accumulate dust particles and become plugged. Also make sure that it is not freezing up (you would see ice forming inside through the vent openings). I have had to remove the case to clean lint from some units to get them to operate more efficently. Always unplug the unit to clean and service it.
