Question about Epson Stylus Photo R320 InkJet Printer
Hi this just happend tonight on my epson r320 System error. Press and hold both Power and Stop buttons for 7 seconds ive done what it says to reset it but just comes back please any help would be great thanks tommy
This could be the Ink Overflow Protection Error. If it is you may need to get a Rescue Kit for your machine form http://www.TheServiceManualShop.com Does the status monitor or LCD indicate that parts inside are past there service life?

This solution on thread:

... may work for some folks...
Can I just note though that "General Error" is rarely the same thing as "Service Required" and many folks confuse one for the other.

When my 320 showed a General Error after a print command I did the following:
Held down the Power and Stop buttons for 7 seconds ( the upper screen should go blank at the end). Then I unplugged the power cord for a few seconds and then plugged it back in and turned the printer power back on. That worked for me.
I think this relates to the life of the waste ink pad.

I have the same problem, after switching off and back on the error returns.
System error message. Says to hold both stop and power buttons for 7 seconds but it does'nt clear the fault?
no power to printer
While printer is going through the cycles on start up it makes a gear grinding noise and stops says "general error see manual"
after pressing and holding down the stop and power button for 7 seconds, now I have no power to my printer
