You need to have the internal antenna checked....or go into the network settings and change the band from auto to manual and have it do a manual search.

Why Is Status 254 showing on failed text to regular recipient - plenty of phone credit , 29 msgs in out box , have had more than that Phone is Motorola Razr Thank you

i think you have a network problem.
you can turn off your phone and turn it on again after 5 minutes then try texting again. if the problem still exists, turn off your phone again and remove the battery and sim card. insert your sim card into another celphone and try to text there. if you have successfully sent the message, you can insert back the sim into your razr phone.
see if this helps.

Got a motorola razr v3 on ebay. Not reading SIM card.

It may be caused that when you take out sim from old phome it has damaged, try for old one is it still working? if not then your sim is dead, also old phones made SIM-s to be bend and such SIM-s have difficlt electrical connection with new phones.
Also find if "this sim only" is activated in your phone.
It must give you signal, Insert sim card, or insert proper sim. If insert sim card warning card is damaged or have not enough good connection, if another, then this sim only is activated you first you must unlock it to work .

Have you used the external antenna port? If this is damaged it renders phone useless. Somehow connected to main antenna.

Razr v3r

Hi folks - I took apart and totally destroyed my Verizon branded RAZR V3m. There is NO SIM card. Instead, there is a memory chip hard wired to the circuit board. From what I saw, this memory chip is preprogrammed with the phone number and carrier features. The card picture referred to above is for the micro SD card. This card is just for additional memory - for pics, video, and music, dependent on the carrier. I also went to the Motorola web site. They're unlocked RAZR V3's have a SIM slot underneath the battery. Bottom Line? If your RAZR V3 doesn't have a SIM card slot under the battery, forget it. You can not change carriers.

Motorola razr turns off.

your main-board could be failing but you should have it reflash the firmware on the phone that might solve your problem if not then replaced the phone.

Location of SIM card in Motorola Razr

Are you guys serious....

Verizon & Alltel (which happened to recently finalize the merge) use CDMA. CDMA does not use SIM cards.

AT&T, T-Mobile, etc. use SIM cards - wheter they are 3G networks, TDMA, etc.
