Question about Sanyo CLT2054 20 in. EDTV-Ready LCD Television
My television was on and playing fine, I turned away to do something and when I looked back the screen was blank, but there was still sound. My daughter and I could find no reason for the change, the cords were all still properly plugged in, the cable attached, the outlet for the television apparently working. We turned off the television for several hours, then tried it again. There was a very dark picture, and sound. I turned the television off for the night. Today it will not turn on. I disconnected the Playstation that was attached, no change. I disconnected the power cord and reattached it. No change. I plugged it into another outlet that I know to be working, but still no power. I do not know what else to try.
Hard to believe that anyone would pay $128. Especially since there are lots of guys selling AC adapters for $15 to $30 on ebay, you just have to be careful and get the right one for your set. The OLD adapter for my Sanyo CLT2054 has a drawing on the side with the exact pinout for it's 4-pin connector. It clearly shows 12V on pins 1 & 3.
I began by asking several dealers on ebay if they had an adapter with this pinout and only 1 answered my question with a YES!! That ebay dealer is CENYGLOBAL. They told me to specify "Sanyo-Right-4Pin-12V5A"
AC Adapter. Price is ONLY $14.99 + $4.99 shipping.
I'm wondering if all of those other dealers only sell the other pinout, since some CLT2054 TV's with 4-pin power plug have 12V on pins 1 & 2, so be careful to get the right adapter. This also might explain why so many people are getting the wrong adapter.
If your adapter still has green or "ON" light, you could try checking the voltages out of the adapter with a voltmeter, when looking at the 4-pin connector with the flat side UP, for my TV, 12V is on the RIGHT 2 pins (1 & 3). On the other versions 12V is on the TOP 2 pins (1 & 2).
