Just bought a Sony Trinitron flat screen tv. Model KV-36XBR450. The guy we bought it from said he had it for five years and worked perfectly. My husband tested it out for five minutes and it was fine. Bring it home and withing 30 minutes, the picture started wiggling. It does this off and on. Sometimes throughout the picture and sometimes only part of it , for example top, middle, or bottom. It's making me dizzy!!! What could be causing this? We tried to see if it was the connection to our digital box but when we connected it directly to the cable line, it still continued to do this.Other tvs in our house that are connected to cable is not having this problem. Please help!!!

Re: Picture is wiggling. Like waves.
The power supply has variations meaning your supply is not constant, it is not giving the same outputs voltages.
plse check the following
capacitors which have changed values
semi conductors which are leaking.

Hello!I bought 12 years ago a SONY TV KV-28FX60D with out any technical issue so far.The last couple of days I powered on and after five minutes it starts showing only half of the screen, losing the bottom half of the picture. what do you think it might be. Can you suggest a part to be replaced and if it is worth fixing, cost wise? Thanks KONSTANTINOS
This sounds like the HV protection circuit is cutting off the TV due to a high current event in the set. This could be a problem in the High Voltage section of your TV (Horizontal output transistor, Integrated High Voltage Transformer, and y of the deflection components, and or the CRT in cases of shorts).
I would suggest that if you do not have a background in electronics, you should have an experienced TV technician troubleshoot and repair this problem. This is due to the nature of the dangerous voltages that are present in the television.
For the last week my TV has been going to a black screen for 10 seconds or so then the picture returns. It has been continual. Last night it stopped going to black screen, but now the standby light flashes 5 consecutive times and the color went haywire. A lot of red and everything that is suppose to be black is green.
I did a soft and hard reset with no success. What's wrong and is it worth fixing? Bought new in November 2002.
The problem with this model is the large parts due to poor wave
soldering. Locate the transistor Q605. Using a
small wattage soldering iron melt the solder and add a little solder to
all the large parts in the area. Small wattage = 15 to 30 watt. Stay
away from the surface mounts they are not the problem. I resoldered the

These parts are
located on the main board, the one the power cord connects to.
Carefully press the clip on the left side of the board (as you look at
it from the rear of the tv) carefully pull the main board back and out
of the rails. You will find the parts on the right side of the main
board about 2 inches over 2 inches down.
